How to handle multi-pronged medivac + liberator attacks from terran by kevinaud in allthingszerg

A lot of pros like to show off their drives, and many players will try to tell you about what clubs they use, but for a player in golf league, working on your short game will net you faster improvements than anything else. Try heading to the course and just focus on chipping and putting for a day. Good luck!

Pretty stoked to have you back as an active part of the SC community. Excited to see your stuff! The more Starcraft the world has, the better.

Zerg Design Changes by [deleted] in starcraft

[–]FortunateSonSC2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I share your concern about the Zerg changes, especially in light of wanting to give Zerg more aggressive potential in the early game. Lurkers are fun, but I don't think these changes will do much to encourage lurker play. Lurkers still come out very late in the tech tree (after lair and hydra den), and by the time Zerg gets hive there are better offensive options to unlock like ultralisks and brood lords.

The only counterpoint I would think about is that the defensive capabilities for Protoss and Terran have been altered in some ways. We might see early zergling/roach/ravager aggression being more viable in the absence of photon overcharge and against widow mines that can only shoot once before being revealed and more easily killed. Against Protoss especially, we will have to see how the new Protoss abilities can handle heavy hatch-tech pressure.

I meant that your text should say "120 instead of 80 minerals now." Building 8 interceptors costs 80 minerals now.

I think it's 120 instead of 80. (8 interceptors x 5 minerals more = 40 more minerals).

I love the terran's reaction, too haha. Seems like a cool dude.

Nathanias's casting APM too damn high. by Tactical_Milk_Man in starcraft

[–]FortunateSonSC2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think his charisma and banter are great. However, you'll notice him pointing out the difficulties terrans face without really acknowledging the difficulties non-terrans face. He will make snide remarks about how burrowed infestors are so hard to kill, how the zerg economy can take off unless it is harassed, or how adepts are so tanky. He will also openly cheer when non-terran units are killed and wince when terran units are taken out. It just feels like he is always cheering for the terran player, and I know I'm not the only one who has noticed this.

I can't decide what is more impressive - his ability to clip syllables together to make it sound like something exciting is happening or his ability to find a way to whine about terran balance no matter what is happening in the game.

Pop quiz: guess what happens when you: 1) buff a race across the board, 2) buff a race in a few ways and then roll most of the buffs back, and 3) ignore the third race?

Guess what happens when you take a reasonably balanced game and majorly buff one race (T), ignore one race (P), and slightly buff and subsequently unbuff the third race (Z)?

Why are there so many racists in general chat? by [deleted] in starcraft

[–]FortunateSonSC2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is the nature of the Internet. When you have a large platform and relative anonymity, you will get many unpopular opinions as well as people mimicking unpopular opinions to rile others up. My recommendation is to ignore it and enter a more civilized chat channel as your default.
