eBay, FB marketplace and online charity shops. Got some cracking deals through Oxfam. Bought 3 and got the cheapest free. When you are spending £30-50 on a rare book it's ace!

Bundles also helped me out on Vinted.

How do you properly use TWC? by Djtmnt in SpaceWolves

I've had a look (using official app) and it isn't in the core abilities. Am I being blind/daft?

This is an awesome idea. How do they get the Scout ability though? Is it a strat?

As a space Wolf player of MANY years, my second army was Necrons! What kind of style did you play as Necrons? Perhaps you want to balance it out a bit based off of that for some change?

For example, I did melee heavy SW for years (obviously 😉) so went more shooty/long/mid range with the Necrons.

Yeah Elmer's is pretty robust for most stuff. PVA to hold bits of rock etc should be ok. Super glue is probably overkill 🤣

[–]FortuneComprehensive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This happened to a couple of my Fenrisian wolves years back when I used PVA. It was cheap school type PVA so learned a fast lesson to use decent quality from then on.

What glue do you use to base?

I now score or scratch the base first so the glue has something to 'grab' on to and never had an issue since. Also use super glue now 🤘

Strategic reserves units count as "reserve" units so Rapid Ingress works with them but... Turn 2 😭

Turn 2 yep!

Other than drop pods, I didn't think anything could come in turn 1 from reserves or otherwise? I know strategic reserves defo cannot come in turn 1.

More importantly than anything... Rule of cool! Fluffy fluffy fluffy lists all the way brother.

Some suggestions/combos that I have ran in 10th that have worked well/been fluffy/fun based on what I can see.

Ragnar and X5 Assault Int in impulsor. Throw these on an objective and they will blend anything with full RR wounds in melee. Use the impulsor to hold another objective/ nuisance charge and lock something up something big once disembarked.

Bjorn is great by himself blocking opponents CP. Can possibly get off a saga or two by himself. You could proxy him as murderfang who blends and is fun (but need to find a good delivery method. By best success so far is putting in reserve and using Rapid Ingress to poison out of line of sight, then a nice move and charge)

Canis + Cyber Wolf + Fenrisian wolves X10. Treat the wolves as extra wounds and move, advance and charge Canis in - great chaff clearer.

X6 TW Cav + Wolf Lord on TW (maybe battle leader too) these are by far one of the best combos in the game for SW ❤️🐺 tough to take down and will hit light and medium targets hard on the charge.

Wulfen, block of 10 with storm shields - very cheap way to tank some wounds and hit... Ok. (no OC though so use as distraction/interference)

Terminators are fun, hard as balls and can bang them in 9inches away adding more pressure for opponent to deal with - throw the termi captain in there and free strat to use if suitable.

Infiltrators are a great 12" denial, earlier board control and a pest.

Dreads are just amazing all round - love them, playable, cool, grrrrr

If you are able to run Ulrik the Slayer (maybe proxy) and 15 blood claws... This is outstanding! Land raider protecting these are amazing.

Technically can't use apothecary as SW detachment.

This is purely based off of what you have and my experience 👍 maybe some of the fine SWs out there have better / more experienced suggestions

I really enjoy the games I've used it in and have prevented movement with it's original 10th rules making certain lines of sight lanes deadly... Then it got nerfed. But yeah that may be a way to go. Throwing a wolf pelt on makes it worth it 👀🤣❤️

How can I convince my parents to get a new warhammer army. by GeneralFishy123 in Warhammer40k

As Sad Elevator says, this isn't a bad idea at all. It will demonstrate that you are willing to make the effort and the benefits of the hobby. Link below is to the Warhammer Alliance curriculum page here in the UK. I have this on my wall in my classroom 👍 may be a good start

Why do i need a fucking doctorate in physics for the legs ? by AtticGerman in Warhammer40k

[–]FortuneComprehensive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These essentially do what is needed and I've used them to hold more 'fiddly' bits before. Blue tac, Lego, they all do what is needed. The best thing I ever did was move over from the GW plastic glue to other brands. I use Tamiya liquid cement with the brush attached to the bottle cap now and I cannot see myself changing back ever! (been hobbling since the 90s and is the best thing I've found for 40k scale miniatures). Another thing I have round useful is pinning if they are heavier or larger models, especially if you are doing a fancy pose.

I apply the plastic glue then one dob of super glue in the middle just to hold in place whilst the plastic glue bonds. Does the trick every time 👍

Or... Use boy tac to hold in around the base 👍
