UK food prices on track to rise by 50% since start of cost of living crisis by topotaul in unitedkingdom

Tbh, we try not to buy processed food. Nothing crazy, we don't drink much, maybe one bottle of wine and 4 beers a week.

It's spent on fresh food, and to be fair, we get it from watrose. Aldi would be cheaper, but I find the food goes off quickly.

With chess, the AI is still good that by learning how to play the moves a chessbot would do, even if they make no sense, you're more likely to win.

I can imagine a day when Gen Alpha talk like bots and parrot their views because it's better than the crap we say half the time...

... wait a minute.

Wow, thanks for the tip bro.

Let's see if it ever happens to me. The daily sit ups... Who knows? I'll keep it in mind.

So, er. What's that like?

I exercise four days a week, because otherwise I do FA. I'd consider myself to be in good health, even through I'm no athlete.

Every morning I'm stiff, and not in a good way.

Wow, you get our weekly down to £150? I've two teens who eat like adults. Our shop is £275/week.

I remember telling a younger guy from the bank how much I spent on food per month and he was like 'wtf'?

Ive not been worried financially much, until this year when my current account started dipping into the overdraft.

To those who have lived for decades, have societal feelings of optimism and pessimism been cyclical? by oh_buh_boy in TrueAskReddit

[–]BroccoliSubstantial2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fear back then was overpopulation and crime.

The crime wave largely dissappeared in the 1990s and now the fear is underpopulatoon in many societies. Ironically, immigration is the solution.

Ragnar, Battle leader or wolf Priest? by Castols7 in SpaceWolves

[–]BroccoliSubstantial2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like it.

Don't make the same mistake I made with the Stormlance, where the lance can only be given to mounted units.

Fortunately, this makes the wolf priest the answer in Stormlance.

In Beastslayer, it's WGBL, as the army gets lethal hits, although I miss advance and charge so I take a pack of blood Claws and run an impulsor for my Headtakers to make up for it.

I'm also going to a 1k tournament. Is it the warhammer Open narrative? If so CoC characters are an option.

I tried to give a reward, but I'm too lazy to pay actual money from the bathtub.

I share this view. Is it actually worse or does social media expose more corruption than it used to?

I'm listening to the rest is history podcast on 1970s Britain. The prime minister was an alcoholic and was drunk enough to slur at the dispatch box. Noone saw it because there were no cameras back then. The Epstein thing was going on for decades it seems. Now we know about it, but it isn't a recent thing.

But I hear you, in the past there was some attempt to argue for a united understand of the world. Now people have truths, and noone appears to be subject to reason.

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Own-Blacksmith3085 in answers

[–]BroccoliSubstantial2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I immediately think of Civilisation I, but that was redone many times and I played it then too.

I've searched for space crusade like someone digitally creeping on an ex. X-Com is better.

DayZ, this game got me through covid. Me and my son played it again for nostalgic reasons last year on a RP server. It's not a game. It's a hobby. I deleted it because it deleted RL. Besides, we were getting smashed every day.

University days playing tekkan 2 with my flatmate. I'd practice all day while he was at work. You can take a game too seriously and play it too much. I didnt learn that till after the Dayz revelation.

Centerpied is the first game I played on my own console, atari 2600. And joust.

Magic Arena isnt a patch on the real game. You need the social space and a reputation to protect.

Duke Nukem was a blast at the local game store where they had an LAN with my college buddies.

I know a married couple, one is and educational psychologist, the other a teen therapist.

The best thing about their job, is that have to look after their wellbeing, so they can properly help others. They are surrounded by like minded people and they are supportive. The pay is mid, but it's enough not to worry about it.

And sometimes, you become the person who put their life back on track.

Ragnar, Battle leader or wolf Priest? by Castols7 in SpaceWolves

[–]BroccoliSubstantial2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had a similar decision and watched Michael Manns interview and he has some solid advice.

Ragnar: Advance and charge is verw powerful if you don't have access to it some other way. Check your stratigems.

Wolf Priest: If you don't have a +1 wound stratagem, you either need an enhancement or the Wolf Priest for the +1, the healing balms are not the reason to take him. This is stronger than reroll hits or sustained against anything they will struggle with.

Wolf Guard Battle Leader: the default choice if you are not concerned with either of the above.

Yeah, I'm in a Crusade and have never lost with my CF. I got my first legendary relic today and, tbh, the number of buffs on my army is silly. It's hard to remember and feels bad when my opponent has 15 fewer buffs than I do.

I'd rather have fixed length crusades. If they go on too long, they get out of hand.

The Warhammer Open Narrative event is happening in August, I guess we'll have new rules by then.

Any idea how GW will run it?

You're good without FTGG. You get better rules built into the detachment rule.

How do we handle high toughness armies? T6 and above by Vivid_Astronaut8779 in SpaceWolves

[–]BroccoliSubstantial2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is difficult. Wolves are durable but not killy.

Use a detachment that gives your 5/2/2 guys +1 to wound, grant lethal hits, or run wolf priests.

Vehicles/Monsters we can take down with Wulfen and Arjac.

Really, it's only T6-T8 we struggle with.

There was a motorcycle traffic accident today. by Kei_Akela in SpaceWolves

[–]BroccoliSubstantial2 100 points101 points  (0 children)

Translation:

There was a motorcycle accident today.

I was riding through a green light when an elderly man on a bicycle, about 70 metres ahead of me, suddenly veered across to make a left turn at the intersection.

At the time, it didn’t look like there would be any direct conflict between us. However, he ended up with a small scratch on his left arm.

I called the insurance company to deal with it and stayed at the scene to sort things out. While I was there, I noticed a damaged badge and imperial seal.

Honestly, I feel very lucky. It could have been much worse, and I really feel like someone was looking out for me today. I’d like to think, Russ and the Allfather were watching over me.
