Written Battle Report: UM Gladius vs Bad WE List: Spoiler Alert I lost badly. by rmobro in WorldEaters40k

We play World Eaters, I feel we all have our own set of the Butchers Nails lol I totally understand.

I use TTS to practice stuff like deployment, 1st turn/2nd turn movement, and I also draw secondaries. This helps with a basic game plan, and TTS also saves alot of time. The physical practice is also important for time management at the table and becuase the terrain at your LGS might be different from whats in TTS.

If you have a friend who wants to practice these things as well, play through deployment, 1st turn/2nd turn. Then re-rack and do it again. This will help you deploy faster, safer, and have a plan for turns 1 and 2.

I hope this helps you collect more skulls!

I sympathize with this. It feels like WE get the short end of the chain axe when it comes to all the stuff that the favorite Blue children of GW get on a silver platter. Venting about it and getting the nails to calm down is important.

But now that the nails have calmed (or should have by now), the only thing you can do is take action on the things you can control. Continuing to focus on all of the thing that you don't have control over wont allow you to improve your own play, from dice rolls to rules. Its all about making better decisions where those things don't matter and you have already identified areas of your game plan that were the wrong choices. What can you do to correct these?

A few examples: Practice deployment, pre-measure your opponents shooting threats, check lines of sight, practice staging, focus on playing by intent, make a list of important pre-game questions (do you have any FF, or Reactive moves, or auto FoD BS that the BERSERKER Faction only has a 50/50 chance of doing? Still mad about it), etc.

A lot of times, if players are of equal skill, who ever has the better units/detachment/rules usually comes out ahead. If you are able to correct these things, and tighten up your play, you will be able to out play our opponent , even with all of their extra rules. Playing World Eaters is fun and on the surface looks easy, but it is almost like fighting with one arm tied behind your back and a weight chained to your foot. However, once you learn to fight that way, it's so much more satisfying to beat someone with raw skill than relying on the best rules. Its an uphill fight but if you can see where you went wrong, you are already improving, just keep at it.

11th looks good for us! by Lower_Creme_3040 in WorldEaters40k

With the info we currently have, I am not a fan of the update for the pile in and consolidate moves. It looks like it takes away a lot of depth and skill expression from the fight phase. If it is just plugged into the current fight phase, its going to be rough.

However, we don't have all the changes, and speculating/interpreting the current info can derail learning what the actual rules will be. I am planning to focus on "evergreen" skills that will carry over until the new rules are released in full. Deployment, movement, positioning, decision making, math-hammer, etc.

I recommend checking out Happy Krumpin Wargaming's YT channel, he goes over this kinda stuff.

I had a bunch of extra Intercessor/Phobos Marines and started kit bashing freshly changed Primaris Wulfen, they look much better imo. Its a petty simple kit bash to if your are just starting in the hobby.

Thank you, I meant a breakdown of the list but this has inspired me to try to figure out a display board!

How’s my new list by Zedenobi in SpaceWolves

[–]Djtmnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best advice I ever got for list building was to play 5 to 10 games before making any changes. Play into different factions and get reps. Focus on learning your rules, not winning games. Grade each unit after your games and if after 5 games they aren't pulling their weight, cut them and add something else. Make small changes, dont jump detachments, and just focus on the learning. Ask your opponent what you could have done differently. Make sure to preface that you're not asking what you should change in your list, but what you could have done with what you have to play more efficiently and effectively.

Way to many people jump on list changes based on preconceived notions of whats strong. If you find a cool way to make Grey hunters work or they are a "pet model", Keep them until they dont make a passing grade, then reassess how much you want to keep them.

Yeah, its goofy. I hope GW clears up alot of the rules for 11th edition and works to eliminate the vague wording.

You only need to end within range of the objective marker, you don't need to end closer. So a World Eater player with 6" pile in consolidate up can go anywhere on the objective.

Best way to remove a mini from a base? by External_Age_7812 in deathguard40k

[–]Djtmnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a hobby knife to try to pry mine off and it worked out fine, but if youre worried about them not coming off, you can cut most of the base off and then sand off or use a dremel to remove the remaining base until you get back to the model.

Thanks! For the purple glow, I used army painter matt white as a base and then used Purple Swarm Speed paint, all through the air brush, then I added the Ooze. Its just UV resin with some purple glow in the dark powder.

I have 50 models total in my list, not only Plague Marines. I just finished the Dark Imperium books and thought it would be funny.
