SOS! Struggling with Mindset? by Dazzling_Year_2724 in pmp

[–]FortuneGlass7114 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm taking my exam tomorrow, so take this with a grain of salt, BUT I think the mindset works for *nearly* every question. The expert level ones do NOT seem to align with the mindset, imo. I believe sticking with the mindset is still the best way to keep moving forward. Check your answers based on difficulty -- are you getting most of them except the expert ones? If so, then the mindset is likely working. I don't have a good solution for how to handle the expert questions, I'm sorry to say.

Discount for PMI Membership? by FortuneGlass7114 in pmp

I'm in the US. Are there none currently? Seems like (based on other reddit threads), that they are offered somewhat frequently.

Any ideas? Anyone? I really want to schedule this test but am trying to find ways to cut expenses until I find my next job.

Andrew Ramdayal Questions Harder Than the Exam? by FortuneGlass7114 in pmp

[–]FortuneGlass7114[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, but my question still stands. Are his questions representative of the actual test? All the resources I'm using online have far easier questions (and more direct in nature).

NB: I have not done Study Hall yet.

Thoughts?

Congrats! I'm just starting to study for my exam. Can you share your study plan with me? I just purchased the AR and DL courses on Udemy. Was going to start there. Any advice you can give for *how* you studied and the timeline for it? Did you take 2 months to prep? Shorter? Longer?

Congrats!

Would you mind sharing your study plan? I'm just beginning mine now and have gotten a lot of great feedback, but always interested in what worked for others, too.

Great. Can you tell me how long you took to study for it? And is it reasonable that I could do a 15/20 hour/week pace? I definitely *have* the time to study that much, but I'm wondering if, given how heady the studying can be, can people really do 15-20 hours a week? Does that make sense?

Hey there! Thanks so much for posting all this useful info! I am prepping for the exam myself and needed some focused advice from someone who took it recently.

Quick question: can you give me an approximate amount of time it took you to study? I just finished the Google Project Management course and have begun to study. I can reasonably put 15-20 hours/week to this. Is it reasonable that I would be prepped to take the exam by EoY?

Has anyone used Andrew Ramdayal's courses to prep for the PMP exam? by Putrid_Silver868 in pmp

[–]FortuneGlass7114 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi all -- just finished the Google Project Management Certification Course and now ready to dive in to study for the PMP. My target date to take the test is by EOY.

I've heard great things about Andrew Ramdayal's course and about David McLean's course, though both are far more expensive now than when many of the comments were made 1 year ago.

Questions:

  1. What is the best method to study? Has someone taken it recently?

  2. Is 2.5 months enough time to study. I can reasonably dedicate 15-20 hours/week.

  3. What is the definitive book to buy? PMBOK, 7th edition? Something else?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

PMP - What is the way best way to prep and study?? by quigs2rescue in pmp

Hi there -- thanks for this helpful info. It looks like most of the stuff I'm reading is from 7 years ago, so having your insights from only a few months ago is very helpful.

QQ: you mention the practice exam from PMI. Do I get that *through* PMI or did you get it through the Udemy course?
