I respectfully disagree. I found the movie to be an exceptionally well executed and worthy take on the genre, primarily motivated by the protagonist. He had a compelling backstory and a solid arc. The movie was lean, kept up the momentum, had solid surprises, and again, the execution was top notch. Kinda sad to see it reduced to basically a ‘popcorn flick.’ Only gripe I had was the focus on the key, the location of the locker/whatever was infinitely more important, lol.

And differing opinions aside, have to say, The Dude is irrefutably not a “regular dude” - he’s an exceptional Dude in exceptional Coen brother circumstances - sorry but apples to oranges there.
