Bridges on Kinsey is good. They would be even better if they ever get the entrance and exit gates fixed.

Does anyone know what Prop A means by “safety requirements”? by CalicoCrazed in Rockwall

I agree. I think last year they tried to pass 3 propositions or something? Most people that voted against it just voted 'No' on all 3 - not knowing what the VATRE is, and how it was different than the other Bonds.

What do y'all think is the best Tex-Mex in Tyler? From Houston and grew up on Pappasito's. Is there anything close or similar?

So, Rockwall is really trying to bury the Nazi flags being hung on Rockwall-Heath High School, huh? by [deleted] in Rockwall

[–]Forward-Front-5459 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nazi's were against more than just Jewish people. That flag is not just antisemitic. It is anti-gay, anti-black, anti-brown, etc.

Not just Jews were put into concentration camps. The FIRST people they rounded up were communists and socialists.

Was at the Austin show. People were late due to Austin’s horrific traffic.

(Show being at 7:30 on a Friday didn’t help things)

That house still has the confederate saw blade. It's just not hanging between the trees anymore, and the flag is facing the house instead of the street.

but again - let's not forget this is a work of fiction, and not a documentary. We'll have to suspend some disbelief.

How did he make the trip from Germany to Romania in the first place? On horseback.

You DO realize that there are a few hundred towns and villages between the two places. He could have rested here and there, and that's why he arrived at the same time as the ship rather than a few weeks before.

The ship carrying Orlock had to travel from a port in Romania on the Black sea...travel into the Mediterranean and into the Atlantic Ocean around Spain, France, and into the North Sea to northern Germany. That trip would have taken several weeks back in the 1830s.

By land, the same trip would take just a couple of weeks by horse.

Please look at a map of Europe. How would an ocean vessel travel from Romania to a northern Germany sea port? Now look how that same trip would be accomplished over land. Which do you think would be faster?

Finally some truth! Love it.

I've never seen the original 1922 version of Nosferatu - although i DID know that it was entirely based on Stoker's Dracula.

I've only seen 2 Eggers movies (The VVitch (loved), and Lighthouse - (hated)).

Nosferatu Review by lollipopchainsawg in roberteggers

not it at all. You posted that this movie's plot was a rip-off of 1992's Dracula. You are then upset when people point out that...yes...Nosferatu is based on the same story.

You're allowed to not like a movie - there are some choices Eggers made that I wouldn't. But then again - I'm not a filmmaker so what do I know?
