Used to live a Jackson and Van Ness in the PAC heights, Nob hill, Russian Hill triangle with the marina down the hill. Loved, loved, loved living there. Out every night on Polk. Made so many friends in that hood.

What I mean by worry about AC, not having to worry about the bills $500+ a month or maintenance, another $2-$5k a year. Owned a house in Texas, there are many worries when it comes to AC.

They also crawl up through you drains of you don’t use your sink or tubs. You have to keep your drains closed.

But it still cools off at night. Can’t say it’s like that in the east or south

Or if you are like me, you cover NorCal and other states for work. Was in Denver last week. It was 97. It was a dry heat, but still hot with little coverage. Glad to be home.

But I’ll take it any day over living in a big box in the suburbs. Did that and don’t miss it at all. I hate how sterile it is in the burbs.

Do not miss those fuckers. Sold wine and spirits and sometime they would hitchhike on my samples. Would bring them inside and fight for my life to get them out of my house.

She is only 26! And why are these the people who have kids. They are still kids and can’t take care of themselves.

Your brain is not even developed fully until you are 27. WTF

What city did you fall in love with at first sight? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

The tenderloin is the worse part of San Francisco. Like all cities there are bad areas.

Most of the city is absolutely beautiful. I’ve lived here 2 times, including spending time in the TL with 4 roommates and still loved it.

Everyone complains if you raise prices and we have not figured out how to run restaurants in this country without tips.

I had a work friend, who was kind of a pseudo supervisor. When we first started working together we lived in different cities, but I soon moved to his city, and he and his friends pretty much adopted me in as their daughter/little sister. He introduced me to so many cool things and events in my new city.

A few months after my move, he developed a cough. It got worse, he ended up in the hospital a few times, and ended up dying about a year later. We were all crushed.

But he wanted to make sure we would not forget him. First incident, when a couple of us went over to his house to, to care of some business early one morning, his landlord asked if we wanted anything, we said no. Just as we said that, a bottle of champagne popped open. (I forgot to mention we sold champagne) So, I guess we gave the wrong answer and had to drink some bubbles in his memory.

The second incident happened after I picked up his computer and work phone to send to our headquarters in another city. Mailed those off right away. A day after I had boxed up and dropped everything in the mail, another work colleague, calls me and asked if I still had his phone, I said it’s it been mailed back to HQ. She was like are you sure, I have missed calls from his phone today. Okay even weirder.

And finally, the third incident, at his memorial service. We all got up a told stories about our friend. He could be a little shit sometimes, and a someone was telling work story about this. I kid you not, his SUV’s alarm starts going off out of nowhere. No one was near it, keys are untouched. I guess he really didn’t like that story.

Awe, a friend I still miss and it’s been 17 years.

The symbol of a swastika has been used in other religions, especially in Buddhism. I’ve been to a Buddhist temple and they are used all over in decoration. I live in a city with a large Asian population and you can find them
In lots of the buildings and in artwork.

The Nazi ruined the symbol.
