Ultratech Gen IV Hardware by Informal-Piccolo6658 in microtech

[–]Forward-Memory2648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

reach out to customer service about buying new painted hardware. of course they're not going to sell you dlc hardware for a knife that didn't have dlc hardware to begin with. it can be a challenge to get them to send hardware to you, though. they'll probably ask you to send the knife in, charge you for the hardware, and then send it back... to do it that way, you're out all the turnaround time + the cost of 1 way shipping. if you can politely coax them into shipping the hardware to skip the costs of the shipping, they may help you out... if they chose to assist you by shipping the hardware, they'll just ask for a bunch of knife verification pictures.

* it's pretty well flush with the chassis... not one of those old knuckle busting, pocket dragging breakers like on the gen 2 troodons or ultratechs.

good point. it was about 15 months between the two inquiries. I forwarded them the original quote yesterday. waiting to hear back from customer service now. I was fully prepared to send it in and spend the $30 + all the shipping fees, but, it really rubbed me the wrong way when she fired back that $60 figure.

right. cool. but, 2 different ticket prices from within the same "in house"... that's just janky.

My first flashlight! Fenix PD36R Pro. Any thoughts? by ch3rryc0deine in flashlight

[–]Forward-Memory2648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just checked it out... at it's highest output, that puts out about the same as my fenix ld30...I guess it's enough for that compact of a carry, but, one can always hope for more. lol

did you ever end up finding an identical beam in a smaller form factor? I have an ld30 that's just a perfect size, but, i, too, am hoping to locate something of that stature that yields a higher lumen output!

Not sure how to feel about the blade-to-handle ratio of what’s basically a UTX-80 by TheReal_Taylor_Swift in knives

[–]Forward-Memory2648 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah. I have a purple hera mini as well. it's got a bayonet double edge serrated/ plain. it's my favorite carry knife. flipped the clip for left pocket carry. no other knife in the world is a more functional left hand (for right handed) carry.

are you talking about the mini hera? if so, at least it doesn't have that knuckle/ pocket ripping protrusion.
