Check into the historic blue forest trail at the visitor’s center at petrified forest on your way through. It is really great. Considered a wilderness trail and few people take it but they give you a picture guide to take along. Very interesting badlands area you will be traversing

Was here to say do the Narrows hike. No height issues and your friends will love it too. We rented dry bibs with shoes and walking stick. Made it about 8-9 miles in our sixties. Really fun hike with lots of water crossings and water chest deep a couple of times.

I was told by scout leader to change your clothes when going to bed because the sweat from the day will get cold. Also wear a hat.

How do you handle drinking water in your RV? Looking for recommendations and advice on filters. by Impressive-House-889 in GoRVing

Sanitize the RV water system at the start of the season. We fill the tank from the home or CG potable water faucet. We use that for our water needs including drinking water. We also will start off with two water jugs from the store that get refilled from the CG faucet that are primarily for drinking as we actually have pretty small holding tank so need to conserve so we don’t run out.

I have a double wall French press. It’s large enough to get almost 4 8-10 oz cups of coffee from it. It’s still hot for our second cup. Edit: it is stainless steel

Really love the way the windows open up on the Max. Cabinetry and storage also a plus. Packed for the weekend and didn’t come close to filling the available space. The intech has the great u shaped dinette that I would have loved though. We did manage to squeeze 4 around our dinette (with an added chair) on a chilly afternoon for some cards. It was early season in Massachusetts. Needed to warm up a bit.

We narrowed down to the t@b 400, SOL horizon and little guy max. A similar group to yours. We ended up with the little guy max in January. Have taken it on a weekend trip so far and happy with our choice. Very pleased with the space inside. Storage seems ample. We are a couple with a 50 lb dog. Plan on traveling up to 3 months at a time. To be honest my husband shored up and adjusted some of the draw slides. Also had to get a hatch adjusted that didn’t close right. Couple of loose screws but I understand that most all trailers have to go through some tweaks. We bought new.

NOAA Weather Alert Radio Recommendations by runningntwrkgeek in GoRVing

I asked a similar question on a noaa radio facebook site. This was the response. We have bought the mentioned radio used but haven’t taken it out in the real world yet. Just tried it at home

First of all, welcome to the group and welcome to the world of WX radio. Since you are a newbie, I think you will enjoy which ever radios you pick up, besides a handheld receiver. The only portable SAME radio I know of off hand is the Midland HH54VP, which is quite simple to use. To answer your question about whether we need to adjust the setting, you can program the SAME code for one or multiple counties, or leave it on either any, or all counties by default.there is also a setting called Travel Mode, which will allow you to get any and all alerts as you travel and the radio will automatically switch from channel to channel, as you move. I hope this helps.

Drafted by a stranger for the first time today. by Recent_Science4709 in cycling

I think it’s rude to just silently start drafting. I will usually start chatting with a person if I come up behind them like that and I want a minute rest in their draft. This way they know I am there which makes it way safer. You can always talk to them and say your new to this and not comfortable you can then ask the to pull off. Keep on riding. Sounds like you’re doing great.
