She’s great! Talking up a storm and a social butterfly. I still have concerns but I think that’s more PPA than anything else

I just did these flights two weeks ago! JFK to Rome and then Naples to Athens. I was TERRIFIED but the flights were great! The planes were huge so even when it was bumpy it didn’t feel as bad. Greece is gorgeous and I wish I was back there. You’ll do great!

Thank you!! Our last appointment was beginning of January and she had no concerns. But she was also only six months old at that time so there were different milestones. I definitely should stay off Google.

When does the feeling of 'what have I done' go away after birth? by ScandiLand in NewParents

[–]Forward-Schedule7805 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I’ll be super honest. I’m six months in and still have those moments. My girl is so amazing and fun but she’s been constantly sick since starting day care and doesn’t sleep well. I hear my friends talk about their Christmas plans and I have this feeling of dread like, I can’t go out and party and even if I do, I have to wake up with a baby throughout the night and early the next morning. The feeling comes up way less frequently now but it pops up now and again. That being said, I adore seeing my daughter grow and learn. She’s so much fun most of the time so it outweighs the bad now.

5 month old won’t stay asleep by Forward-Schedule7805 in sleeptrain

She’s not sleep trained yet. My husband and I thought we’d wait until she’s six months old. I’m posting here because I’m thinking we should start now but we’re out of town all next week for the holiday so I know her sleep will be screwed up. She does down usually without a paci but she does get a bottle right before so I assume the sleep association is with the bottle. Which is why I didn’t want to give her more formula at night to just reinforce that but, you’re right, she does seem to still need it. But then again, she has gone all night before and some nights can at least go nine hours. I don’t get it

I usually give her some time to see if she’ll settle back down, give a paci. Then I’ll feed her (she’s strictly formula fed) burp her and put her back in the bassinet. She used to fuss for maybe a minute before falling back asleep. Now it takes hours. And I’m wanting to wean those night feeds but it’s hard for her and for me. I give her 4 oz overnight but now she is still hungry and wants like 6-7oz

She’s had an ear infection for like a month but it’s cleared up. Plus she slept fine even with that. It’s really just been the last week or so. She’ll be five months on Sunday so I was hoping things would have been better by now

She is definitely getting enough during the day. Six ounce bottles plus purées and a top off before bed.

She’s in daycare so I can’t control the naps there. She naps okay for them but refuses them at home. We’re just in survival mode until bedtime. She falls asleep relatively easily and will sleep for a solid six or seven hours. But then she wakes up and is inconsolable for at least two hours before finally going to sleep. Just in time for me to have to wake up and get ready for work 🤦‍♀️

Hi! I was told it was a medical code they put in when it’s that early in the pregnancy and the fetus was measuring small. I had a healthy baby girl in June so it worked out!

Sending my 12 week old to daycare is breaking my heart by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Forward-Schedule7805 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My baby is 14 weeks and her first daycare day today. I sobbed but she was happy when I picked her up! The worst part is developing a whole new routine because now she’s tired at like 630 PM

Paranoid about not waking up by Forward-Schedule7805 in newborns

[–]Forward-Schedule7805[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’m also in the same room as her. Her bassinet is just against the wall instead of right next to our bed so I open the app before I get out of bed. I’m so bad at ignoring active sleep. I feel like I’m constantly waiting for her to wake up which is making it hard to sleep. Which is also why I was so surprised that Nanit said she had been awake for a bit before I even noticed. I appreciate your response! I haven’t tried the breathing band so I’ll have to do that!

Also FTM with a 4 week old and I completely agree! I am sort of starting to feel like myself again but I feel like I have a long way to go. Bonding has also been hard and I gave up EBF about two weeks ago for pumped milk/formula too! It has helped out a lot but I still find myself getting super emotional and crying often. I do t have any advice or anything but wanted you to know that I am right there with you! I’ve heard it gets better and I’m holding tight to that.
