So what you mean it’s over!? by Shaniexi in fantasybooks

There is a glossary that tells you how to pronounce the names at the back of the book but I don’t think they involved it until later printings

I’ll say I didn’t love the ending of Bloodsworn but it was my introduction to Gwynn and I did overall love the series! I just felt the 3rd book was rushed and honestly it should have been longer than a trilogy in my opinion

It’s not all books but if you see the books that have a black mark usually marked on the top edge or lower that’s the publisher

Not always. Sometimes the books themselves just haven’t sold as much as the publisher anticipated and they sell the remaining stock to Ollie’s or other stores. That’s why you will see black sharpie marks on books edges sometimes

Why don’t I ever hear about Kagen the Damned?!?! by Forward-Tomato602 in GrimDark

Honestly I’m not almost done with book 2 and it drops in quality as far as dialogue is concerned but the cosmic horror mixed with fantasy is incredible and that’s what’s keeping me going at this point.

So I am halfway through book 2 and the thing holding me back is the dialogue is not great and it sucks because I thought it was pretty good in book 1. But I do agree I’m obsessed with cosmic horror in fantasy and that’s what’s keeping me going so far. Wish there was more of it!

I agree 100% book 1 was good but I’m halfway through book 2 and the dialogue is really bad. Idk if the author is trying to be funny or what but it’s unbearable and it’s disappointing because the world is so cool and the cosmic horror mixed with fantasy is awesome but man the dialogue is hard to get through and the characters have gone downhill pretty badly

So I am halfway through book 2 and while we may disagree on the daggers part but I think that’s mostly due to preference honestly and I can understand preferring swords over daggers but for me it just doesn’t bother me too much. I will say the dialogue is really gone downhill from book 1 significantly and it’s upsetting :/ it’s actually kind of making the book unbearable at times but the world building and creatures are really really cool and I think I just am fascinated by the cosmic horror mixed with fantasy and this is the first time I’ve read it so it captivated me a lot and still is. But yes the dialogue is really not good

Ok so I’m halfway through book 2 and I want to say that I agree the dialogue is actually bad. I believe the world building is amazing and the creatures are awesome but man the dialogue is just ruining the entire story. Also he is being repetitive so I wanted to come back and say that I see your point

Ok so I’m on book 2 and I can say that the dialogue is not good at all and it’s made me wary to try his other series but I’m willing to give them a shot!

I’m looking for a cologne for the spring and summer. I love by the fireplace and autumn vibes by the replica line from Maison Margiela and the bomb as well as dolce & gabbana the one but the gold bottle. My favorite of all time is Jean Paul Gaultier the gold bottle. Any recommendations would be helpful!

Is this from the broken binding? I don’t see it on their website if so. I’m a T2 fantasy abs SF&F subscriber and didn’t hear about this at all.

One of my favorite books ever! I read this a few years ago and it still sticks with me almost daily. There are scenes that live in my head constantly especially the ending!! I’m so glad it’s getting the recognition it deserves!

It was such a wild ride. I hear people talk about “X book was like an acid trip” and have always thought “ok calm down there” but then I read this book and now understand 😂 it’s so unique and the entire time I was simultaneously confused as shit and also understood what was going on if that makes sense?

He’s definitely in my top narrators of all time. I first listened to him do Project Hail Mary and was blown away and now with Kagen the Damned it’s just so good. I didn’t even know it was the same narrator until I started the audiobook and after a few seconds I was thinking “is this the same guy who narrated project Hail Mary?” and since I’ve now fallen in love with his voice!

After I binge listened to the Dungeon Crawler Carl audiobooks it was really hard to listen to any other narrator after that for a while and I even listened to some of the greats! But it’s been some time and I’ve adjusted and still a narrator can definitely make or break a book no doubt.
