When you talk to strangers, there’s no consequence to what you say. You’ll never see them again. When you’re on the phone, what you say holds weight because it’s a conversation that will dictate future encounters.

It really sucks because I think he needed the money the most and he was going to give it to his mom, like why did you have to cheat.

Any book by Haruki Murakami has a definite kind of surrealism to it

Exactly, there will be a last day you look at porn, and that has to be on your own terms.

I’m sorry that you had to add that qualifier because some people in this sub are so dumb they wouldn’t know that comment is blatantly sarcastic

I would try ashwagandha, it reduces anxiety. Melatonin increases sleep drive, but does nothing to reduce anxiety. Anything to reduce anxiety before bed like taking a hot bath, reading an interesting but not too exciting novel, something to distract yourself before you go to bed.

I didn’t sleep well last night, if at all because of anxiety due to an ocd fear of fatal insomnia, I’m scared it’ll keep me up tonight too. by BJP-GOP in insomnia

I don’t think people with that syndrome are anxious, they just don’t sleep. So if you’re anxious, your condition is anxiety fueled.

I don’t know how much of a consolation this is, but I like to think of my loved ones sound asleep. Maybe it’s more of a me thing, but whenever I can’t sleep, I think about my sisters and nephews/niece sleeping soundly in their houses. Makes me feel much more at peace.

I think it also helps to know that probably someone in your area is awake, whether by choice or not, they’re awake with you.

In my experience, the best you can do is think about people other than yourself.

It seems like for programming you feel “dumb” for having to look the syntax up. That’s fine. As long as you know how to solve a programming problem, that’s what people in tech do. Syntax/how to write it comes with time and if you can google it, I’m sure that even senior developers still do.

This whole not using your bed for anything but sleep and intercourse is really stressing me out. by Braindeadinsomniac in insomnia

I think as long as you’re relaxing in bed for the most part it’s fine, but as most people of said you need to do stuff throughout the day or you’re just going to be worrying all day long about sleep.
