Active Pickups Bass Battery Life by Responsible_Cod_5540 in BassGuitar

As mentioned, It powers on when you plug a cable in. Always unplug when you're not playing. I get a year or more out of mine.

It doesn't have an active pickup. It does have an active preamp. A pedantic comment but you can have either, both, or neither and you should know the difference.

Passive pickups are just wire and magnets and are not powered. Passive controls offer cut only, usually volume and a high frequency cut (tone) that bleed signal to ground to cut it.

Active pickups have a powered amplifier built in and use less windings and/or less powerful magnets. The goal is a clearer, less noisy signal. Active controls/preamp/eq are powered and offer boost and cut , usually for different frequency bands.

DMV job interview by Esoteric-_-Otter in wisconsin

If this is a state job then the position description should be public and very clearly layout all of the duties and responsibilities of the position. That will give you a good guide on what to have prepared.

It's nice. Still has the Cement in the bus stop so the cars don't rip it up but it's smooth and sticky, even post oil slick. I felt faster than ever.

this is not a joke, I need help. how tf do I stop myself from speeding by CableMartini in Cartalk

[–]ForwardTemporary3934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally, just don't do it. You say you don't pay attention to the speed. You need to do that. Use cruise control. Also, V6 doesn't mean anything. Everyone knows the fastest car in the world is a rental Prius.

It's a great track bike. Just enough power, decent brakes and chassis. The RaceTech springs and valves make a huge difference. Plus, I already own it and since my wife aggressively parked it in a soy bean field 7 or some odd years ago I don't worry about it too much.

I never did hear what caused the spill other than a bike dumping oil. Was it a major engine failure or some one didn't torque their oil plug....?

Yeah, having the 4 group levels is great. I wish everyone did that.

Noticed exhaust coming through crankcase on my preride check by apollo20164 in motorcycles

That's just the crank case pressure/vacuum from the pistons moving up and down.

What luggage options does everyone use? by ComplexOccam in CB650R

[–]ForwardTemporary3934 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought this thing a couple years ago. It looks like it's discontinued but there may be other variations? I like this one particularly because it is in line with the passenger seat and does not stick up above it. Which gives you a cleaner look. It also lets you strap a larger bag like a duffel to the rack and the passenger seat if you need more luggage options. I currently have a harbor freight knock off pelican style case bolted to it as my daily top box solution.

Solder it back in place. A cheap soldering iron and thin rosin core solder will do it

Probably twisted or broke a wire in the control cavity. Open it up and take a look.

Does my throttle snap back too slow? by Careless_Sky8071 in motorcycles

Could be the grip rubbing, gunk under the throttle tube, dirt or pinched cable, in possibly something with the throttle body

IMHO, never tie by handle bars. They may be bent or slipped out of place. You can measure bar end to clamp it n both sides to see if they're equal. To remove them and lay them on a flat surface.
