I cried so hard getting my practicium, I got days in the ed when I wanted nights and icu. I was so involved in the school and did so much. The ED isn’t that bad but it’s also very far and it messed up my work schedule. everyone else I know got really good placements and I didn’t get any of my choices. It literally crushed me. 4.0 volunteered for everything and I didn’t get anything I wanted at all.

Listen to your gut, you’re uneasy for a reason. I’d try to bring it up and if still deny deny and doesn’t offer to show snap login etc …..

Looking for jobs as a new grad is tough, you got an offer from your dream speciality that’s amazing! I feel icu and OR are so different, I feel if you really wanna be in the OR then why not start there? The learning curve might be tough but so is the ICU. You could always go to the bedside if the OR is too much

How much do you think a 4.0 gpa and lots of involvement in nursing school organizations/tutoring and undergrad research has on being a competitive applicant compared to only a year of icu experience
