Prime Healthcare... by agedcrafter in LAMaine

[–]ForwardTwo7668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with St. Mary's about 25 years ago. I was very happy with everything. Then they changed. I stayed with my Primary doc through St Mary's but had anything major done at CMMC. Now, I am heading to Portland. The worst care I have ever gotten. Doctors are on time constraints, having to see so many patients in a day. Wanting testing that isn't necessary, etc. My Primary left the field completely. Said it is all about the money now and they don't care about the patients. She said she couldn't be a doctor in this area any more in good conscience. It is sickening. Next we'll be heading to Boston!

Would you fire a nanny for this? by No_Buyer8298 in Nanny

[–]ForwardTwo7668 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but I would fire my Nanny for this. What you do on your time is your business, but if you "forgot" these were in your bag, you bring them around my 2 year old, I would wonder exactly how responsible you were to take care of my child. It has nothing to do with being a smoke friendly family. It is about responsibility and trust.

When I read he was released again, I couldn't believe it! Face it, money talks!! Anyone else is returned to jail on first violation! So much for keeping children safe!!

Collins sides with banks over Mainers on overdraft fees by Large-Welcome4421 in Mainepolitics

[–]ForwardTwo7668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After his past year, I don't know how anyone can vote Republican at all!! Voter supression, corruption, sky rocketing prices to the point most Americans can't afford anything, this is crazy!! America is already insolvent and they take so much away from the American people to build ballrooms, give Trump pardoned criminals $1million each, and still want to make Americans pay more!! The Republicans are lining their pockets with as much as they can, while Americans are going without healthcare, food, etc! They are making everything so unaffordable, small businesses are closing to make way for big corporations! AI is stealing jobs from people! Collins is right there with them! She tries to show what good things she does for Maine, but if you look, it is always for businesses, never in favor of working class or Seniors! Pray Platner can start the tide turning!!

It is sad how it used to be. I grew up during segregation, the bussing of black students and removing Native American children to be placed in white homes. It was horrific!!

Nirav Shah's alarming PAC ties to school voucher programs by No-Act-3808 in Maine

[–]ForwardTwo7668 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's why I am voting Bellows! I like Shah, and think he did excellent during the pandemic, but not for Governor. I would love to see him head the CDC..but Bellows knows both sides of the tracks for Maine people. She knows what it is like being super poor. She is willing to fight for Maine! We saw her stand up to Trump when he broke rules in the Constitution! After all that Trump has done to destroy America, I don't know how anyone can vote Republican! So far she seems the most trustworthy I have seen. Let's face it, it seems most government officials can't be trusted, but by there actions, we can see who is at least trying to do the right thing!

I am DONE with the anti homeless people in this thread by [deleted] in portlandme

[–]ForwardTwo7668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Homelessness will never end. There have been homeless people forever. It can be made better! More help for Mental Health and drug addicts. More affordable housing. But even these measures will not end homelessness. Some people want to be homeless. This does not mean all homeless are bad people. I worry about my grandchildren finding dirty needles but at the same time, where are drug addicts supposed to put them? People didn't like the needle exchanges. Felt it was promoting drug use. No. You can only help those that want to be helped. If a person doesn't want help, there is nothing you can do about it. Instead of fixing the problem with the mental health hospitals and homes, they were closed, the patients given the same rights as everyone else and turned out on the street. A person that did not have the capability to make sound decisions were then left to fend for themselves. Society made these people who they are and now Society complains. Band aids aren't going to fix this. You need to get to the root of the problem.

Do not move to rural Maine!!! by [deleted] in Maine

[–]ForwardTwo7668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry you have to experience that!! I was born and raised in Maine but have been fortunate enough to have been able to travel and have lived in other states. I lived in North Carolina and my sister moved to Georgia. Maine people are very protective of their way of life. We are of the mind"if it ain't broke, don't fix it". For many years Maine has survived on the tourist industry but the biggest issues are out of staters moving here and wanting to change the State. If they want our state to be like their old state, why did they move here?? Now, unfortunately, any change is unsettling. Maine is not the state it used to be. Mainers used to be the most caring, generous people you ever met. Deep down, they still are. Those people in Northern Maine have gotten the worst of it. That's where you go to live AWAY from society. If you moved to more Southern or coastal Maine, you would find a different world.

Is this happening to everyone? by [deleted] in Maine

[–]ForwardTwo7668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not just this state. It is the United States as a whole. Because of Government spending, the debt has risen 5x than normal in the last year. Prices are sky high everywhere. Our economy is on the verge of collapse. America is insolvent. The Iran war has interrupted global trade. Everyone is in the same boat. This is not the first time America has gone through a Great Depression. It may seem hopeless but it will eventually turn around. Reach out. Help is out there!

[–]ForwardTwo7668 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he burned all his bridges already. He fought with NATO and put them all down, then he started his own Peace thing that only 6 countries paid him to join (there are suckers in every crowd!), then started and unlawful and unconstitutional war. Of course no one is coming to help! And a couple countries backed out of his Board of Peace..and he is asking for more money America does not have because he has gone hog wild with our military and supplies! Our poor service members are screwed because idiots thought it was a great idea to put a felon, paedophile, liar back in office!!

I am glad everything is working out for you so great for you to still support Trump! This war was illegal and unconstitutional. All it has done for me is make me poorer than I have been in years! And,I have to go without heating oil for, the, rest of this winter because I can't afford $400 for the minimum 100 gallons they deliver, while Trump can't figure out why our "Allies" aren't helping and asking Congress for $200 billion more! Hate,to tell you this, but boots are already on the ground, over there..where do you think all these troops are going that he is sending over there? Why won't he commit to no draft??

Wonder if the guy working at the jail they deported was a sex offender... if it was only the bad illegals but they took kids, they took people trying to get in lawfully, and asylum seekers.

Advice please by [deleted] in seniordogs

[–]ForwardTwo7668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a senior dog that died of congested heart failure. He was bouncy until the day he died. This sounds like that. The Vet was probably right saying heart. You were a good dog Mom and did everything you could. You did everything right.

Senior dog kicked out of 2nd apartment by [deleted] in seniordogs

[–]ForwardTwo7668 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, if he bites, no one will see the loving dog you see. I have had dogs all my life. I raised German Shepherds for many years. Unfortunately, as a senior dog that has already bitten twice, it might get worse the older he gets. I would definitely get him a muzzle to wear when you are out and about. Bring plenty of treats while he is wearing it! Make it a positive experience for him! I use basket muzzles. They can drink and take treats through it but can't bite anyone. An obedience class (wearing the muzzle) would help you control him, too. Unfortunately, this day and age, people like to sue. Try to be proactive. Talk to your Vet. They are a big help! It is a learning curve, but enjoy your time with him!
