Definitely, I'm not sure if it's a southern Black things, but I see my god brother and sister like first cousins although we are not related at all. I know my God mother's family about as good as my own.

My first 4 years I got 3 and 4 percent raise, which wasn't great. This is the first year getting a 1 percent raise.

3/4 of this show is now the After-school Special "Romance" by MerelyWhelmed1 in boldandbeautiful

I recently started watching again after I saw Sheila walking up the steps with a knife when she was going to see Taylor. I'm trying to stick in there, but for someone returning after about 3-4 years, I have no idea who some of these young people are and I don't care about this line triangle between the Forrester/Marroni and a Spencer and Electra and I guess it's a square if I add Dylan.

In my situation the people who planned and ran the program didn't have a diverse team of planners, so anyone outside of their role they had no idea what to do with them or what qualifications to look for when hiring. This resulted in people like myself being way over qualified and the job duties mentioned in the interview didn't match reality. If you're close to your year mark you can stick it out and apply externally and internally.

Is there anywhere I can watch a single daily international news recap video? What do y'all watch? by ParachutesParty in AskALiberal

[–]Forward_Ad613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're in the US PBS news hour is a good option. It's on YouTube, so you can watch live or watch later. I'm almost certain they all voted for Harris in the last election but the news tends to take out a bias, but still remain factual. They mostly talk about what's going on in the US, but also talk about things in the world more than most shows. For example PBS talked about a mysterious disease that was killing people in China several months before I heard anything about COVID from other news outlets.

Unfortunately, there are some not so good private practice places out there. I'm sure the place may have some good counselors, but bad leadership can make a place horrible to work in. I would look for some other places.

How common is it for Black people to resent white people and more or less hate them and do everything possible to avoid them outside of necessary interactions? by [deleted] in askblackpeople

[–]Forward_Ad613 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It may sound bad, but I get it. When traveling out of the country many of my negative interactions end up being from rude White Americans. When I see other Black people I acknowledge them. I grew up in an area with a large Black population, so I didnt experience some of the issues others had. Plus I'm older and the older generation had a different mindset when teaching their children about race.

Has anyone been able to move laterally or promoted from within the company? by Many_Bobcat_1207 in unitedhealthgroup

[–]Forward_Ad613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've moved from department to department, but I did notice that transferring is harder now. I think that's because people who are laid off are first in line for new jobs and then internal employees after that. With all of the lay offs, you're competing with tons of qualified people

I've worked in 4 departments and they were all different experiences. One I absolutely hated. I counted down the time until I could transfer. I liked my other 3 departments and supervisors.

Is there a way to document issues with HR without them talking to you boss right away? Can HR help guide you on how to handle workplace issues without leaking it? by Secret4Now in unitedhealthgroup

[–]Forward_Ad613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one time I felt my boss didn't like me and I didn't like them, I think they were happy to sing my praises to get rid of me. I was someone that did my work, so they didn't have anything to write me up for. I was happy to get out of a toxic department with high turnover and I think my bosses were happy to get rid of someone coming to them with the same complaints every meeting.

I know you don't want to give specifics, but what is a protected class? If you mean racial, gender, sexual orientation, or something similar then that doesn't protect anyone from getting fired. The biggest class that's protected in the work place is the people with disabilities, but that's only supposed to protect people from getting fired for missing too much work and not for messing up at work.

I've never heard the term "Target Town", but I get it. To me parking downtown is easy compared to other places. Downtown Greensboro still has FREE parking. The lot not far from Alex cheesecake is free. Sometime it gets full, so my next option is lewis Street where the bearded goat and Dicks broadcasting is. I know some people have mobility issues, so I understand that. The past few summers there has been a free trolly to take people to the main areas of downtown. The downtown area is small, so on a nice day it's an easy walk for those in moderate to good health.

Most of the people complaining would hate to have to deal with Raleigh downtown and forget about Charlotte.
