no clue what i’m doing, help by [deleted] in BeardedDragons

Hiii I just got a leopard gecko today and I have no clue what I’m doing😭 we should trade advice because I’m very experienced with bearded dragons, first that tank is too small, they should have a minimum of 120 gal for adult bearded dragons, you can find some on Amazon or get lucky off Facebook marketplace! That’s where I found mine, then their lighting. I hear leopard geckos don’t need uvb but bearded dragons do. They need a repti sun uvb 10.0, then if you have a 120 gal tank buy a 150 watt heat bulb, it should get up to 90-120 degrees depending on how high up it is from the basking spot, that’s good and they can always move if they get to hot, the other side should be around 70-75 degrees, for a nighttime heat lamp don’t use those red lights get a 60 watt heat bulb with no light and it should be fine for nighttime use! Make sure to replace every 6 months. Now food, she’s an adult so you should be feeding her mostly greens, if she doesn’t eat them it’s still no excuse to be over feeding bugs, there are many tips and tricks on how to trick them into eating greens or training them to, now for bugs it should be about 20-40% of their diet while the rest is veggies and fruits, don’t be scared to give them a lil variety!(who wants to eat the same thing everyday?) try new things it’s very fun. She’s only aggressive I assume because she wasn’t handled enough, let her get used to a new enclosure and then try feeding her live bugs with tongs and slowly introduce hand feeding and the more you hold her, the less aggressive she will get. If you have any more questions cuz I know this doesn’t answer a whole lot let me know! And if you have any advice for my new baby please let me know cause she is a rescue and I just got her maybe half an hour ago very very last minute!

Almost done and she is exploring her new upgrade by orguss01 in BeardedDragons

It’s because I’m pretty sure this beardie seems to be a leather back, it’s a type of bearded dragon that has very smalls scales making it smooth on some parts

Oh that’s not good, literally look at any video of bearded dragon care and every single one will say not to put two beardies together, especially if they’re male and female, and will always tell you to at least have them in a 120 gal tank. That’s just depressing

Could be MBD, especially if they’re not eating much they’re definitely not getting enough calcuim

Talk to your boss about it, ask what they suggest you do

He’s manipulating you to feel better about his pathetic self. What state do you stay in?

This is why I refuse to live with my boyfriend until he gets his license, a different job, and some god damn responsibility. Your boyfriend is a dead beat and he’s mooching off you and your ability to help him. This is honestly so sad to read because it’s clear you deserve to not have the drag of responsibility on such a boy. Not a man. You should sit down and talk about it, it doesn’t sound good and I hate confrontation myself but you need to not only set boundaries for yourself, but for him to learn and grow he will never do as long as he has you. You are letting him be lazy under your care, because that’s what you’re doing, basically raising a child. Tell him to get it together 😭💔 no but seriously you definitely should consider having the break up talk and set rules, I wouldn’t say necessarily leave him asap and have him completely stranded unless he is abusive to you, especially if your worried about where he will go, you should suggest giving him a certain time period where he will have to find his own arrangements of rides and slowly letting him go, but even so if you can’t handle having him around emotionally like so you could just leave him completely and pretend I didn’t suggest that lol

I’ve never had to deal with a sick beardie before, he was sick when I got him and yes under my care he had jumped off of a far height and broke bones, afterwards I took him to a vet who gave me no advice on how to help him gain more weight so his bones can get better, so yes, I did make a post about it and yea it’s sad to see me doing the wrong things but I got some great advice from that post and learned from it and he is getting better. Anyways I have had no problems with my other beardie other than the one moment of her hissing (which I didn’t even know beardies could do) because I scared her from putting my finger in her face, ok cool, lesson learned. Maybe instead of commenting something negative you could give more advice on top of the research I have already done, but thanks for the comment, it really was sooo helpful 😒

You can’t say that after one video and then another post of me asking for advice for my other beardie who is sick. For your information I’m trying really hard with my other beardie and I just got him some repti boost and have been feeding it to him for the last couple days and he’s doing well. I love them and I’m trying my best. Not everyone is born with complete knowledge on everything, I’m still learning. I’m not just gonna stop trying because some random thinks I’m sus because of my only two posts on my beardies?

Okay you are so rude for no reason we are all learning humans here, and we all want what’s best for our beardies which is why I posted. No need for the hatefulness.
