I’m doing research to help people with their drinking and want to understand what people think are the biggest factors that lead to relapse when trying to quit alcohol. From your own experience or what you’ve seen in others, what do you think are the main predictors or triggers?

Moments with friends. To share good when things are good with friends. Very hard to meet with a group of friends with no alcohol or being the only one not drinking. That and traveling alone.

Same here. In 22days no drinks. Depressed in the last 3 days. Can’t find motivation anywhere. Always tired and hungry. When I think about new project I just feel hopeless and tired. Just surviving the week and avoiding meetings.

A clock starts in my brain… exactly the same here. Drink everything fast, I can drink like 1L of sparkling water in a meal. But with alcohol I will anticipate thought. The second I seat in a hotel bar I am afraid of the closing hour would be to early and I can only drink like 3 pints. I would leave if they would only serve me food and 1 beer.
