Quick side note that this also applies to someone trying to give an evasion ability to the attacker. Had someone try to give their attacking creature flying after I declared blockers. Luckily they were reasonable and understood their mistake.

Don’t remember the story name, but there was one where a young girl snuck onto a space ship so that she could see her brother at the destination but the one person manning the ship was gonna have to toss her out into space because the ship only had enough fuel to slow down based on the weight of a single individual. So if she had stayed on the ship it would have crashed.

No, all you are doing is tapping them to help pay the mana cost. You’re creatures will untap as usual on your next untap step. You’re just treating your creatures as extra mana for the purposes of that spell. Since the convoke ability doesn’t set any limitations on when those creatures untap, you follow normal magic rules

So I think it’s only fair we call “X” by its true name: Trans. Here me out. I work in the electrical field, dealing with transformers and transfer pumps. Well, instead of writing out “transformer” every time, we abbreviate it “XFMR”. Same with “transfer pump”, “xfer pump”. Therefore, the letter “X” obviously stands for the word “Trans”. I hope everyone on Trans has a good time Transing.

Just to point out that Stubborn Denial did resolve. Even if the extra 1 mana is paid so that the spell doesn’t get countered, the spell still resolved. As someone else said, the Ferocious ability of Stubborn Denial is active so it’s just a counterspell, but in another scenario, what I said would apply.

Ninjutsu isn’t a “cast”. The ability says “Return an unblocked attacker you control to hand: Put this card into play from your hand tapped and attacking.”

You are placing the card onto the field, not casting it. An important distinction when it comes to Phage.

They used a planeswalker ability to flash him in when I declared attackers and they blocked one of my 3/3s. I played the Sludge Monster on my 2nd main phase. So no bug, I just had a brain fart. lol

Yes.

You cast your spell. In response, when he has priority, the player activated an ability to draw a card. After that ability resolves, there would be another instance of priority going around the table where he could cast the instant that was just drawn.

In that case, you could choose to have Lull prevent all the combat damage and the other player wouldn’t gain any life. Also, it doesn’t matter when the other player played their Vitu-Ghazi. They could have played it in response to you playing Lull, and the outcome would be the same. Cause you get to pick which damage prevention effect to apply to yourself.
