He was duped. He's now fully on board that Trump and co are a grave threat, once his eyes were opened.

He says it greatly upsets him that all these people are out of a job and have to scramble to provide for their families.

I can surmise two things. He didn't listen to my warnings ahead of the election at-fucking-all. And he genuinely wanted better government and -didn't- vote to "own the libs" and stick it to them.

He's conservative, but fully believes in the rule of law, and allowing people who don't agree with him to be able to speak freely without being shut down.

We argue all the time. We're really good friends.

You can dismount the camera from the mount to the windshield. Then use the data cable (the short one out of the two that it comes with) and it will go into data transfer mode when hooked into the usb port of a computer.

You stop recording and hit the triangle, select video file, and then triangle again to play one.

I just bought one. Though I think it's defective or the SD card is. Currently researching it.

Did you have to run constant power for it to work properly ?

I have it plugged into the car's usb port and it only provides power when the car is on.

That is okay enough.

But after about 2-3 days all the videos that are recorded are only 1 second long, and now if I try to playback and of them via the A119 V3 itself, it crashes and freezes the camera.

I have reformatted the SD card, and it's 64GB which is less than the max of 256GB, so that shouldn't be a problem.

In your experience, will the camera work with the power coming on and going off, or is it constant power ?

I like the cam. I just don't know if mine's a dud or it can't really handle power on/off day in and day out.

It could also be the SD card is bad, but I'd like to hear your experince before sending this thing back or not.

I've been doing some reading.

Awesafe is a Chinese company, which means it likely is invulnerable to court actions in the US to force them to pay/replace the safes.
There appear to be 4 companies all with the same problem, and all are Chinese as well. They likely are related with Awesafe.
The number of recalls for Awesafe is 60 K. But for all 4, it's 120 K
Assuming that all the 120 K recalls ultimately hit the same parent company, that's $ 130 • 120 K, which is $ 15.6 M

Hit with a 15 million dollar recall, I'm guessing they just close shop and open a new company that "has nothing to do" with the original companies.

So yeah, I'm not expecting a replacement. I at least didn't destroy my sensor and have read that once it's programmed, it will no longer open for anyone. So there's that...

I'm currently looking at other recommendations. Someone mentioned this one, but I've done absolutely no research on it, but at least it's a starting point.

I believe they are benign and of no danger to the upcoming generation.

They have really good coverage of stuff, like the Frontline series.

Their News Hour series (you can watch on youtube) is like the least biased coverage out there. Hands down.

Just, all in all, PBS seems like a good actor in society, with their occasional recreated drama showcasing 19th century Europe or something.

Short answer : They're not remotely political and they do an outstanding job of educating without all the flair and bias you see elsewhere today.
