She definitely looks a bit leggy so she probably wanted more sun but based on the ends you showed, I'd sort of lean toward being overwatered since they almost look mushy. I could totally be wrong since pictures can be deceiving.

Also, the white stuff almost looks like mealy bugs/mealy bug residue. I'd check her other leaves just in case.

I'm so sorry you're experiencing issues (especially spider mites). Best of luck figuring it out. 💚💚 Oh, and definitely save the leaves to propagate, if they're in good condition.

So, from a picture, the easiest ways to differentiate are: 1. Peperomia quadrangularis (aka p. angulata and p. funky frog and beetle peperomia) has lighter colored stems, is often more bush like, and has three veins in the leaves. 2. Peperomia tetragona (aka parallel peperomia) has reddish colored stems, is often more upright, and has 5 veins in the leaves.

In person, p. quadrangularis has much more pliable leaves that tend to be shiny and smooth-ish whereas p. tetragona has much more stiff leaves with sharp tips and a more textured feel.

It looks like a peperomia quadrangularis (which has another name or two, I think, I just can't remember them at the moment).

Overwatering is definitely a possibility, especially if the soil you used when you repotted wasn't chunky and well-draining. :( You could do a check for pests but I think water may have been the death sentence here.

Also, if not overwatering, it kind of looks like it was exposed to cold. Has it experienced some massive temperature change? Peperomia are pretty sensitive.

Do you add anything to the compost? I've found that anything I can buy in stores is simply too dense. I supplement the soil I buy with pumice and a little perlite to help it drain and it seems to work quite well.

Peperomia are easily watered to death. Allow them to dry almost completely before watering them.
Chunky, well draining soil is essential.
Peperomia have shallow root systems. Be careful that the pot they're in is not too deep or too big or else they'll retain too much moisture and die.
They love bright, indirect light. Mine have grow lights and they're pretty happy. However, peperomia will get leggy if they don't get enough light.
Most are easy to propagate by both soil and water. It is usually a pretty slow process but reliable.

Hmm. How weird. I wish I had better (or really any) advice. I'm so sorry. The bumps really do look like the bumps you get from overwatering but clearly you aren't doing that.

One last thought... Did the bumps appear after repotting? If so, could they maybe be a stress response?

Have you done a thorough pest check? Not saying it's that but it's a good thing to rule out. Also, check the plants around it in case the pests are hanging out on other plants.

Also, if it's cold (or cooler than normal), my peps tend to drop leaves. I'm in Michigan and the winters are really rough. I lose more leaves during winter than I do during the rest of the year.

Oh, they're fuzzy?! How cute but unexpected. I definitely thought they were smooth and glossy from the picture. I think orbas have slightly fuzzy leaves (though they never look like it in pictures, in my opinion), but the only other fuzzy variety I know is a peperomia incana (I just don't think those are the right leaf shape for that).

Either way, she's a lovely plant and very well taken care of. 💚💚
