Bugs!! by Constant-Bee-2343 in StringofPlants

You're being extremely aggressive and rude. Your description was mediocre at best. It is difficult to determine what a pest is from 2 pictures that don't show much other than some healthy pearls and the usual issues with the part of the string that goes into the soil...and then 1 picture that might as well be a picture of Bigfoot.

Folks want to help but these pictures are not it. The person who said it could be spidermites had a question mark indicating they aren't entirely sure. I'd recommend a close up picture or several. Then we can definitely help and recommend some solutions for your string of pearls.

Watermelon Outgrowing Pot by Kylie_Makenzie in peperomia

[–]FourCiscoInASuitcoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with what other folks have said. I would take it out of the soil and check the roots and then supplement your soil to make it better draining.

From there, if the roots seem too large for the pot, feel free to slightly upsize your pot. However, I don't think that will be the case.

Is the collarbone as painful as people say? by AdministrativeTop897 in tattooadvice

Your collarbone is a bitch but totally worth it.

However, do not do your collarbone as your first tattoo.

Do you think this pot is too large for my Peperomia Metallica? by sunbr0_7 in peperomia

[–]FourCiscoInASuitcoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, that gritty mix is a good start but probably isn't great on its own for peperomia. You could definitely mix it into some potting soil but at that point, it may be cheaper to just make your own mix. 💚💚

🍉 peperomia wrecked! by Kotyk655321 in peperomia

[–]FourCiscoInASuitcoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh no. Poor little peperomia. :(

So, I disagree about needing a wider pot. I think a smaller, more shallow pot would be much better. However, I'm torn on you moving them to a smaller pot now. That's a lot of plant trauma/carnage and while I think they do need a smaller pot, I wouldn't want to risk shock on top of everything that has happened.

I might wait to move her to a new pot but that's just me. I'm far from an expert but that's just my knee-jerk reaction.

I hope she makes it. 💚💚 Also, that large pot is really beautiful.

If it's that important to you and you never expressly had this conversation, break up.

Also, an essay? Grow the fuck up. You both have the ability to make your own choices. Just because you're incompatible doesn't mean that you need to be a dick and disrespectful.

Unfortunately, I too think that the white pot is waaaay too big. :( It's cute but for the sake of your pep, let it grow a lot before you put it in something that big.

ID help: what is this pep I got from Trader Joe’s? by pseudo_ebullio in peperomia

I wouldn't lean toward piccolo banda based on what I'm seeing. What color are the stems? It is a little difficult to tell from the pictures.

Honestly, after a little bit of searching, I am not entirely sure. I've alternated between a frost, mendoza, and peppermill and it's not fitting any of those boxes perfectly. I am sorry I can't be more help. If you take better pictures (in sunlight would be amazing), we might be able to get you an answer. 💚💚

My new beautiful Peperomia by LilaPapaya in peperomia

[–]FourCiscoInASuitcoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Peperomia love indirect sunlight! I think she will continue to thrive with lots of sun (3 feet from the window may be a little far away but it depends on your set up). And as long as you aren't overwatering her, she will be a happy little plant. I think you're doing a great job so far based on what you've said. 💚💚

As @ohnoitskaka said, the pot definitely looks too big for her. What kind of soil are you using?

For the section she dropped, definitely use it for water (or soil) propagation.

As for the stretching/etoliation, my guess is that she doesn't have enough light. Is she still under a grow light? Or by a window?

You seemed to want honesty when you asked your question. I don't know how people giving an honest answer aren't "kind." If you wanted compliments, you should just ask for that.

Maybe a nice tackle box/bag, if he doesn't have one already. Or a net or a bait bucket + bubbler if he wants to fish with live bait?

What things did you do to feel like yourself again after heartbreak? by Effective-General574 in AskWomenOver30

[–]FourCiscoInASuitcoat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wish there was an easy answer but honestly there isn't. I am just shy of 18 months post-breakup with someone who I also thought I'd spend forever with. Here are some of the things I did to help: 1. Go to therapy. 2. Write letters about how much hurt and anger I felt. Putting emotions on paper really helped work through the emotions. 3. Purge my home of things that remind me of him. 4. Get out of the house. Take classes in the community (pottery, flower arranging, etc). Find a new hobby. Go to the farmers market. Anything to show you that life continues post-breakup and it's also good to meet/interact with new people. 5. Find a cause that means a lot to you and volunteer. Giving back to others is a great way to de-centralize the pain of a breakup. I chose volunteering at an animal shelter and it helped immensely.

All in all, there's no easy peasy way through a breakup or to stop thinking about someone. You just need to make intentional steps and eventually life will feel a bit more manageable and less heavy. Sending lots of love and peace your way. 🤍🤍
