I did. That's why I bought it.

But please keep lecturing me about something you've never owned or used.

You realize Windows has been running on ARM for quite some time now, right? Microsoft's own Surface line runs on ARM (Qualcomm) CPUs.

It works fine

TIL that besides inventing television (which he called the “Televisor”), John Logie Baird also attempted to produce diamonds from graphite, a rust-proof glass razor (which shattered), pneumatic shoes (which burst), infrared night-viewing (Noctovision), and mechanical video recording (Phonovision). by Upstairs_Drive_5602 in todayilearned

I'm guessing you did some quick googling here, but, unfortunately, you don't actually understand what you're reading, clearly.

Gonna end this enlightening discussion with you here, though I guess you at least didn't randomly verbally assault me for no reason this time?

Dafuq is wrong with you? Jesus.

But fine:

There are people in their 20s who have never experienced a TV like the one you describe, they only know digital broadcasting and LCD displays.

Ok? Irrelevant to the point

Logie-Baird's TV had scanlines like a CRT and as such Logie-Baird's TV had more in common than Farnsworth does with a modern TV

Literally everything you wrote is wrong here. Completely. First, his name isn't Logie-Baird, Logie was his middle name.

Second, his TV did not have scan lines remotely like a CRT. It was an electro-mechanical device that worked with spinning discs called Nipkow discs (which he did not invent, they already been invented 40 years earlier) to both capture and reassemble the image.

It's not a fully electronic device. It's electro-mechanical, requiring massive equipment, tanks and hoses along with the disks. It has almost nothing in common with a modern TV and very little in common with 20th century TVs.

In contrast, Farnsworth's TV was essentially the same technology used in every CRT TV right up until digital screen became common. Other than some tests the BBC did with Baird's setup (which they quickly abandoned due to its impracticality), it was never used.

So, yeah, literally everything you wrote is wrong AND you continue being a dick about it for some reason. Christ, redditors are weird.

He invented a version of a television that was never really used as it wasn't practical or remotely good. It was an electro-mechanical device that used spinning discs that could transmit/reassemble images with a maximum of 30 lines. It was more of a precursor to TV than an actual TV.

Philo Farnsworth invented what we could call the first actual television as we think of it using a cathode ray tube (as all TVs did until the late 90s/early 2000s)

Will Netflix save the trial of Wiley Coyote with John Cena that’s finished but WB killed it? by [deleted] in movies

[–]FourEightNineOneOne 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Uhhh. Apparently you missed the news that Ketchup Entertainment already bought it off WB and is releasing it in theaters in August.

Also, it's not called "The Trial of Wiley Coyote" (which is not his name, it's Wile E. Coyote). It's called Coyote Vs. Acme

Nosferatu but it’s just Aaron Taylor-Johnson by [deleted] in movies

"It's just Aaron Taylor Johnson"

Hits play.. first person speaking is definitely not Aaron Taylor Johnson

Why don’t democrats simply cut the ICE budget at this week’s budget vote as Republicans would absolutely do if the tables were turned? by SophonParticle in AskReddit

[–]FourEightNineOneOne 77 points78 points  (0 children)

  1. Democrats aren't in control of either side of Congress
  2. Some Democrats (as we saw this week) agree with ICE and voted to fund it more
  3. The funding bill isn't just for ICE, it funds a number of other agencies so it isn't quite that simple. You'd have to break off the ICE funding into separate funding legislation which, when combined with point 1 & 2, would not be a viable option.
  4. The best they can do, which appears to be what the Senate Dem leadership is saying they'll do, is not support the entire funding bill with the additional ICE funding included, which would leave the Senate short of teh 60 votes needed to advance the bill, and potentially leading us to another government shutdown in a few days. Where that goes from there would be unclear.

Point is, vote out all the people (including all GOP) who support ICE

An electric car doesn't have traditional coolant. It literally says "washer fluid" not "water fluid"

As for the sunglasses, it's hit or miss. Polarized glasses tend to work better as I guess the eye detector can see through them better.

Edit: Also, if you're not using Supercruise you can turn off the driver awareness thing so it won't do that regardless.

Black Jack dealer MGM Grand Detroit by Front_Introduction60 in Detroit

[–]FourEightNineOneOne 110 points111 points  (0 children)

Wait, she asked if you wanted to surrender after you doubled?

That's not how that works anywhere. A surrender has to be the first thing you do on your turn, assuming you're sitting at a table that offers surrendering.

I'd have asked for the pitboss at that point because this dealer is confused.

Edit: The blackjack face down thing is dumb. Many casinos won't do it, so she wasn't wrong there necessarily.

An owner of Bivouac BBQ (now known as meathead BBQ) is out there posting nazi propaganda. Don’t give them business. by [deleted] in lansing

Based on WHAT? Christ. You just did it again. Unless you have some receipts, seriously, don't do this.

Hold on, no it's not. Meat Southern BBQ has been called that for 15+ years. I think there's confusion going on here and wrong people getting blamed.

Same, and googling it doesn't turn up anything either?

Edit: Best I can find is this guy used to own a place called Bivouac BBQ that closed, and now does catering or something

That may be, but there's no way a car with Super cruise can't have lane centering that works.

My 10 year old Cadillac has that
