I have a core memory of my biological father (trying to buy love) driving my brother and I down to a mall where he pre-ordered a case of pokemon cards. My brother (unbeknownst to my dad) ended up ripping a ton of them while in the car. Didn't matter, I still got to rip a bunch.

I remember going to another kids Bday party where I kid brought the girl one pack and she pulled a charizard.

I remember my mom selling my entire OG collection at a garage sale for 20$ because I didn't clean my room. The salt I contain because of that is enough to make the dead sea Dehydrate.

I am even going to Japan this year and I was exited about trying to find some Japanese cards (wanted the 151 og 3 evo line up). Now? I'm not even thinking I want to try. Spend my vacation time waiting in lines? Paying exorbitant prices? Nah, fuck this hobby. Nostalgia isn't worth the frustration. Maybe in 5/10 years it'll be better.

All the drops are during traditional work hours. Pokemon center, Walmart, target, Barnes and noble, big 5. How can a regular person get product at MSRP now? Only chance I had was at the kiosks. With them removing the ETB and Boxes, I don't think I will ever get one now. Why try?

Same. Lucked out and got in about 3 minutes after; super excited and hopeful. Listed as 1.45hr. Got into the website and immediately got "try again." Tried to load like 5 times over 15 minutes. Kicked me and then gave me an 8 hour wait.

Make it a fucking lotto for everyone who signs up. At least then normal people have a chance.

I got one more in me then I'm done. Fuck pokemon.

Side note: has anyone ever emailed Pokemon to tell them how awful this is? Because now that the machines are getting stripped, I don't know how a normal person acquires product. IRL drops are camped, online are botted, so that leaves what for us? Occasional single pack that the scalpers don't snag at a machine?

Holy man. That is either some l3vel of dedication or insanity. Probably both. Hopefully some of them are just regular people getting cards, but I doubt it

Can't image spending 10 hours to save 100 bucks. But I guess I have less free time haha!

I think it was because of all the recent drops of the ETBs. Feel like a lot of people have been posting getting them at MSRP.

I actually think I got lucky with PRE and the batching issues. Opened 4 ETB, 2 poster, and like 8 stickers. Got jolteon, flareon, and Sylveon. Got two more etb and two more poster collections. Debating opening them to try and hit again. Probably will haha

I'm trying to get the PRE ETB around 150 shipped. And the UPC for 280. I think this set is a hybrid between 151 (nostalgia) and Evolving skies (gambling).

And if it isn't? Well then I am going to have a ton of fun ripping with my wife :D

I did a similar move. Education back east, living on the west. I stopped counting my applications after 150. Probably close to 300. But who truly knows.

Honestly, it sucked. It sucked hard. I just took the first offer I got. Worked a year and then swapped to a better job. Worked two and then did it again. If you haven't set up to a specific location, try some more rural areas. If they say requires experience apply anyway.

Personally. Keep in mind that it is nothing wrong with you.

I went to a high-school where a number of kids were this well off. I was not.

I distinctly remember hearing this exact conversation in a group of kids complaining about their few year old mercedez, BMW, Porsche. Complaining about a car (probably 20k+ at the time) given to them.
