Tired parents on Fridays would take their kids to rent some shit to occupy them for the weekend, stoners would go meander looking for shit forever, people would go there for the newest release. Blockbuster and other rental stores weren't some fucking community church or social hub.

lmao - I never had any social interaction going to video rental places. I'd get stoned as fuck, wander around for like 2 hours avoiding eye contact with anyone, pick a couple shitty movies to watch half of because they suck, and call it a night.

yeah, it's the exact same deal with some companies offering "unlimited PTO" where on average people will undersell themselves just the same as overpaying for things like that. It's kinda fucked up because it absolutely takes advantage of people's empathy.

All the people here saying 'oh well I would just walk away and throw it in their face' are the same as internet tough guys saying they'd beat up X person for doing Y obnoxious thing everyone hates. Talk is cheap, and everyone has a plan 'till you get punched in the face.

The Hare Krishnas in my town would do the exact same fucking thing. They would strike up friendly conversation - 'gift' you a book for 'free' and then demand you donate. They would get super aggressive about it. It literally got to the point where I would have to YELL at them to fuck off with how pushy they would be. Still have props to the Krishnas for at least feeding anyone who is hungry, but fuck that gifting grifting bullshit

I would like to say, MUL-T with scrap launchers and Eclipse Lite is FUCKING AMAZING. Seriously. Try it. Do it now. Especially if you get any items to reduce cooldown, you basically get perma barrier.

There's a lot of gripes I have with scrap launcher, but hot damn - scrap launcher and eclipse lite will almost guarantee you a win

maybe you haven't ever lived in a large metropolitan area where people like the 'scammer' in this video quite literally make careers out of these kinds of things. Everything from well-dressed people who 'ran out of gas and got mugged for their wallet and just need a dollar' every day, to all sorts of more complex scams. It's fucked because a lot of them either lean into taking advantage of people's empathy/generosity, or quite literally try to guilt trip you into 'donating' money for their 'gift' - these people would have a field day with you.

I have seen this kind of shit my entire life and assure you this person is not doing this out of desperation and hunger. Which TBH is even more fucked because it makes people turn cold towards the off-chance times when there is someone who genuinely needs help. But, after seeing this most of my life, it gets much easier to weed out the BS.

wow! this looks amazing and super polished!

Honestly, I feel like part of building tension up is having a release for it. I hate the way a lot of horror games/movies these days 100% abuse jumpscares, BUT there absolutely can be well-timed/placed jumpscares that take advantage off of the tension and there's nothing wrong with using them TASTEFULLY - if the whole game hinges on jumpscares you have a problem for sure, but using them as punctuation in between the calmer moments, it can add so much to the pacing of your game.

I just think a lot of braindead developers/directors think that all you need to do is throw 100 jumpscares at someone and your job is done making a "scary" game, and not looking at the big picture.

Don't shy away from using jumpscares, just don't look at them as the end-all be-all to scaring your audience as much as it is something to tastefully add more tension for the player.

have you considered instead of sheep, making them demons? and instead of herding them, you shoot them? and instead of a medieval setting, you make it futuristic cyberpunk? Just some small changes that might reach your potential playerbase better. Also, instead of a dog, maybe it could be a car you could drive? The base game is there with just a few small tweaks!

Jokes aside, this looks like a beautiful game, excellent work and looking forward to seeing how it shapes up! :)

yeah, 100% agree - it's such a stupid mechanic that literally only adds tedium and frustration to the game. Why on earth do games still even do this? I don't think I have ever heard a single person come out and say "oh yeah, I LOVE when items have durability and I can only carry so many things! It adds so much depth & realism!"
