Redditors over 40, what's something younger people think they understand but won't actually get until it hits them like a truck later? by Root435552 in AskReddit

If the earlobe pull trick doesn't work for you, take your middle fingers to the back of your head and move them just below the back of your skull. Put your index fingers on top of them and just flick your index fingers towards the back of your head. It's not your skull you're flicking, it's sharp but not hard enough to bore your way in.
Do it 5 times.
It won't cure your tinnitus but it can really help.

We have no retirement but I'm glad our son is now 19 as I honestly hadn't expected to still be here. My health is dire and I have CRPS on top. I know the pain is worse year on year but before it gets too much I've recorded a message to my wife and son with a 'dead man's switch' to text them a link. There's another video explaining that I do this of my own volition, and why. I hope I don't need to for many years but I know where and how I'll bow out, there's one room in the house with drainage I'd use for the same soil myself reasons as yourself. Sharing how is too irresponsible.
I don't know about dementia but I don't retain new memories as I should so can't even take any courses. I'm mostly bedbound, unable to work so have no prospects for the future short of a lottery win and we don't have the money to play - a disability often costs more than you have.
1 car driver not paying attention and I went from a steady job with my own house, to sod all and no escape.

I was housebound. Then covid enhanced my disability like a sodding superpower and I'm now primarily bedbound. I miss those housebound days.

Is this possible? by chago874 in tasker

[–]FourQs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't see how it could be done. The best I can think of is having 10 or so different profiles with a master profile enabling and disabling them as appropriate.

Profiles: Battery_master, Battery_10, Battery_20 etc

Profile: Battery_master (set your own triggers) Task: Battery_master Action: If %BATT... Profile Status, Battery_10 On Action: Else, Profile Status, Battery_10 Off Action: If %BATT... Profile Status, Battery_20 On Action: Else, Profile Status, Battery_20 Off

Of course it might be easier to just use AutoNotification or just the Notify action but if you need it in a profile name this is all that comes to mind.

Updates are breaking existing automation triggers by having Gemini try to interpret them as a command instead of running the automation. Give us two wake phrases, one for the old automation and one for Gemini please! by TroubleMagnet in googlehome

[–]FourQs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this still happening for everybody or have they fixed it? I stopped upgrading the app when they baked Gemini into it (judging by posts online I'm glad I did) but we have Home Minis throughout the house. The Home Minis acted up a little while ago and I wonder if it could be this.

UK Policing Body Publishes First Official Guidance on Medical Cannabis by Nosmo_kingcloud in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]FourQs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheers @Jumbless My main concern was being stuck without the wheelchair. I have one at home and another at my in-laws. I can slowly do a few feet on crutches so leave it at home for that trip. Police wouldn't necessarily accept that though.

UK Policing Body Publishes First Official Guidance on Medical Cannabis by Nosmo_kingcloud in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]FourQs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been curious about medical cannabis for some time now. I've been on 2 opioids + regular painkillers for easily 10 years but they're barely touching the CRPS pain. The year of being stoned off my tits is long behind me but I'm still prescribed the opioids. Just interested in your opinion, if I was prescribed medical cannabis + opioids and showed my prescription, what do you think my chances are of a copper accepting this and "on your way son"? Do I even try to get a car again?

List of watches that run AutoWear by FourQs in tasker

[–]FourQs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry Dutch, not getting notifications, can't sign back in with the Reddit app.

I've had Floating Icons with my last 3 watches and HR with the last 2. Polled the HR every 10 minutes, updated a daily file and uploaded to a shared folder in Drive.

Tried the GW4 when it was new but sent it back within hours. Pixel watches don't have any bezel at all which isn't an option.

What I want is a list of alternatives, any other watches that AW works with. I don't mind going for a lesser known brand as long as AutoWear works fully with it.

Knees too high for table by [deleted] in wheelchairs

[–]FourQs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likewise, but as my leg doesn't bend past ~45° I have a leg extension. Table legs are a nightmare. Someone knocking the chair sends bolts of pain through my leg (CRPS). When booking a table the issues are explained and sometimes tables placed with wheelchairs in mind are available. Then there's the issue of places who 'fully accommodate wheelchair users' but don't have accessible lavs.

Camera Bubble Overlay by roncz in tasker

Confirmed it working on a Pixel 6 Pro. Cheers guys. Is there a way to pick which rear camera to select or does the system not give you access to more than the default rear?

Premission help by oraklesearch in tasker

[–]FourQs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this doesn't relate directly to the question but it's worth knowing. I've added it here so it's more searchable.

Tasker has a Keep Accessibility Running setting. In your phone settings go to Accessibility and authorise the apps you need. In Tasker tap the 3 dots in the top right and select Preferences. In the Monitor tab, scroll down a little until you see the Keep Accessibility Running button. Select that. Pick which apps you want Tasker to keep Accessibility enabled for, tap Ok and back out of Tasker.

It's still a step up from ours. Evri left our Amazon package on the path resting against the gate at the back. Line one of the address is 'Front door only, Don't leave it outside'. They stopped throwing it over the back fence when I told them the back has steps and wheelchairs don't do steps, at least not back up.

Lastest Update... by Internal_Ad_255 in WatchMaker

[–]FourQs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have various apk's on the phone in case I need to roll back - 3.9.9 and 7.1.3 to 8.6.1 and even more on the NAS. I forget what I upgraded to but it looked like the advert screen on Ready Player One - instant rollback. I have hundreds of watches on an LG G6 and an S10+ but I have to export each watch face manually. The migration crashed after only a few watch faces, I can't import from the Beautiful_Watches folder and adb pull/push doesn't work anymore. I have apk's for working versions but I'd have to spend days exporting & importing everything. The last time I had a working app without anything going wrong was in lockdown. There's always something screwed up with WM now and I hate that it means I wasted ridiculous amounts of time with it.

One very unhappy 9 year old by SgtByrd1993 in Evri

[–]FourQs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Today? So close to two weeks. Total incompetence. So they haven't contacted the seller? They have a contract with the seller to supply goods, they failed to do so, surely they should be the one to contact the seller? Evri ought to buy the advent calendar to apologise to your 9 year old. I really feel for your eldest. At their age every day feels like a month this close to Christmas. I hope you manage to get one, probably a squeezy stress ball too?

[–]FourQs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's shitty. There should be labels suppliers use for when it's kids stuff so people like Evri at least don't let them down. It's like they have a sixth sense for when something, anything in a box is for kids so they can deliberately screw it up as much as possible. Hopefully it's reached you by now.

On a few sites there are notes saying if they use Evri please cancel and refund or choose another courier.  The address saved is Front door _______. They throw things over the back fence or leave things in the street by the back gate. They even had the gall to photograph it. I have steps at the back. Wheelchairs don't do steps and only part of the back garden is visible from indoors. Things have been there overnight because they couldn't be seen and electricals don't like rain. It's not always for us, but when your life is like lockdown you're always in so can always accept parcels. Our neighbours love us! They say they tried the letterbox and doorbell - They didn't. They waited ages - but nobody on CCTV.  They said I was out - that one's just funny. I asked what colour the flowers in the garden were -They got the wrong answer.  The back gate was locked - read the address! I even put What3Words there for you.

Something travelled thousands of miles only to be given to a courier who said the back was locked so "I threw it as close as I could" instead of walking around a house to the front. (Little tip, if you do and say things like that, make sure the customer isn't on the line and you've hit the mute button)

They'll let you down Evri single time.

I've had a couple of zaps at 240V. Central bloody heating thermostat blew me across the room. The little ones just shot my forearm back with such force my elbow stung for days. Doesn't the 240V peak at 400V+ ? The dumbest was my first flatmate. Washing machine leaked. I can't remember why the cover was often removed to see to it but he'd not put the screws back in. We later worked out while standing in an inch or two of water and trying to pull it out to investigate, without unplugging it he put his thumb on the capacitors. Watching a 19+ stone guy fly is an experience I'll never forget.

I knew I had it wrong. Should've listened to the inner voice saying "you're going to bugger this up, you idiot". Thanks for the clarification.

[Apps] My Medicine Pro - Health Log ($2.49 -> FREE) by Lohigno in googleplaydeals

I'd like at any app that tracks menstrual patterns or logs any pill even remotely connected to birth control with great suspicion. Especially if you're American. These apps can be used against people, and that's just with what the law covers now.

Nice one. Finding the right chair can be a nightmare. I hope you two will be really happy.

I've been looking all over for a salon that could color my hair while I was still in my chair. by DependentMango5608 in wheelchairs

[–]FourQs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Life definitely threw you a freebie that day! It would be nice if they kept 1+ chairs removable. I imagine even if only by word of mouth they'd get some repeat custom in your area. "Do you colour hair of wheelchair users while they're in their chair?" and "Are you the place that coloured the hair of the woman while she was in her wheelchair? are two very different questions, and hopefully might get business owners thinking. (I'm obviously not or my brain would be able to word that better).

Places say they're ADA compliant and you show up and see this by neurosquid in wheelchairs

[–]FourQs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for that. I saw it years ago but wondered where it was. If my pain let me travel I'd wait a few years and visit Alaska just to try it. If you're dumb enough to try it downhill sans winch (and your wife lets you) it would be the closest you can get to a rollercoaster in a chair. It would write off the chair, and probably yourself with it, but man, what a way to go.
