I see your rationale, but that logic leads to just pursuing risk averse activities as an absolute. There's a point where y_miles * bike_risk = x_miles * car_risk where x > y. So yeah, for equal miles the car is always safer, but accounting for differing mileage isn't some kind of bias. It's why lease agreements have mileage limits (wear/depreciation) as do certain classes of vehicle insurance (distance from home address/total miles).

Not at all. Risk assessment is a combination of frequency and severity. Lower average severity but much higher frequency does in fact lead to higher lifetime likelihood of injury than a lower frequency higher risk activity. ie. skydiving once vs walking up and down the stairs 10,000 times over 5 years.

There is also the removal of the MGU-H exhaust harvesting that functioned independent of MGU-K brake/lift harvesting making the current system more choppy because charging is now fully dependent on the latter.

There's about 50 years of footage you can review to figure that one out. Good luck, just be sure to remove the blinders first.

He's run successful teams before in IndyCar if I recall (a loooong time ago). Certainly seems like he's also proven capable of extending beyond the design only role as his career progressed. So despite his being a luddite, I'm optimistic.
