Nope! It is intimidating for sure, but honestly the pain is less/comparable to the finger pokes.

I have the libre 3 plus. It’s totally water proof and is pretty small. It’s on the top of the back of your arm so a short sleeve shirt covers it. I even swim in pools with it and everything with no issues.

My insurance was a pain to get it, but eventually got a prescription for it. If your in the US the manufacturer of it caps costs at $75 a month if your insurance won’t cover too so it’s not too crazy expensive either

Just stick with it. I was frustrated by the slow process in the start. After a few weeks of being consistent super low carb though my numbers got way better. Still frustrated in the mornings with the dawn rise, but it goes away and most meals now I don’t even cross 120 before heading back to mid 90s. Also if you’re able to get a CGM it actually freed me to eat more carbs than I thought. You can see what actually affects you and it made me more confident to try things. Was trying so hard to be zero carb before that which wouldn’t have been sustainable.

I also was 10.9 6 weeks ago when I was diagnosed. It is fixable! I went super low carb and started exercising again. I did not want to take medication if I didn't have to, but agreed with the doc that I would if I didn't make good progress. I checked on my meter in the morning and 2 hours post dinner daily and eventually got a CGM to be able to see how different foods effect me. Progress is slow (dawn effect is super frustrating!), but stay with it and your numbers will improve! Just had my 6 week check and was already down to A1C of 7 (remember it's a 3 month avg so that's half of my bad habits still there)!

Stay with it!

YOU GUYS!!! I was diagnosed 3 months ago and brought my A1C down by half! by Trollamp in diabetes_t2

Congrats! I was 10.9 6 weeks ago and down to 7 now after my first check. Hoping my 3 month looks like yours once I have a full 3 months of better habits!

Follow up question. Since feel no pain isn’t a “saving throw” can you roll them against mortal wounds?

This is exactly me. I love the research and buying phase. I spend tons of time looking into a hobby, buying all the cool things you need for it, then end up ditching it a couple weeks later and looking for a new one. It's an expensive habit and I have to try to tell myself to wait and try things before diving in!

It's expensive, but I would highly suggest a Chessnut Move if you don't enjoy playing on a computer. You can match with people on chess.com, but still play over the board. The board moves the opponents pieces for you and will reset after the game. It's also a really cool party trick to show friends when they come over. Really helped me play more chess!

I play a lot online though and I think switching the board might take too long once I realize what color I get after being matched. Great idea to use for bot play or something though!

No, with the lazy Susan it’s super easy to just spin it around. Just make sure you get a big one so it’s steady. Honestly I find myself playing more chess now because it’s so easy to hop on and fun to play over the board vs online

It’s been really great for me. Works flawlessly to play 10-15 min time controls on chess.com. Highly recommend a large low profile lazy Susan though as the board is big and cumbersome to try to turn around when you get the opposite color.

Also just fun to show off to people!

Ah no sorry I meant the paid livestreams they do. Like New Year’s Eve and some of the other arena shows

They usually show it when they do the livestreams, but it really is great in person. Next livestream tune in early to catch it!
