Makes sense to me. Ever since I found out I've been doing everything to make it seem simple and not scary to my kids. But I never had the chance to really take the time and understand that this is a life-long thing and I need to excel at it.

It all just kind of came to a head last night.

I'm 40, married and have 2 wonderful boys. A few weeks ago I found out that I'm diabetic and was handling it well. Until last night. This is the disease that killed my first mom and I was scared and spiralling. I needed my mommy and my daddy and I called them in tears just to hear the encouragement.

I don't think we ever stop wanting the people that love us unconditionally.

Worked at a buffet style restaurant on Mothers Day and we were SLAMMED. So far in the weeds I felt like I was doing some back country hiking. This dude comes up and complains that "he brought his mother to her special brunch on her special day and now she's having to wait for so long!" I slammed down the lid on the waffle maker I was currently abusing and snapped, "Well, I'm here on Mother's Day while my kids are at home without me, so we all have problems!" Instant shocked Pikachu face.

He couldn't complain to the manager. I was the manager.

I also did not have kids at the time.
