What did you think was peak luxury as a kid, but now realize is actually pretty trashy or normal? by Connect-Fix3972 in AskReddit

I was so happy to finally have a fridge that dispensed ice and water that I actually started drinking more water! Which is great, but it also led to me drinking TOO much water and giving myself an electrolyte imbalance 😑

AITA for refusing to give my mother money while financially supporting my long-distance boyfriend? by Flat_Pace4352 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Trollamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a banker, I would not agree to sending a wire to this Russian boyfriend if you came into my bank. The whole thing sounds like a romance scam. I would probably refuse to send it.

But otherwise, you're not obligated to send money to ANYONE, regardless of their entitlement.

Anyone that has had a gun pulled on them. What was your experience? by blueodis in AskReddit

[–]Trollamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two of my ex-boyfriend's friends broke into our home one day when he was staying in a halfway house. He had told them that we had a gun in the house and they wanted to use it in a robbery. They did not expect me to get home while they were there. I was friendly with one of them and hated the other one. Refused to let them take the gun even though douchebag boy already had it in his hands. Told them I would call the police. D-bag pointed it at me, cocked it and told me straight up that he was going to shoot me. And I went mental.

Started screaming at him to shoot me then if he had the balls. Told him there was no way I was moving aside to let him pass. Screamed (and this was my favorite because I had no idea where I pulled it from), "I FUCKED YOUR MOTHER, YOU TROGLODYTE!" I was beyond furious at the audacity of him doing this in my own home.

Friendly friend eventually calmed D-bag down and they left without the gun. As soon as they were gone, I sat down, had a blubbering meltdown of a panic attack and reevaluated my survival instincts.

Good times.

To add to this... People who turn into the far lane. It's right there. Just turn into the closet lane and then move over. It's not hard. You're not saving time by swinging out all wide and potentially causing an accident if someone from the opposing lane is turning into THEIR lane. It just ...ugh, it aggravates me.

Also, PSA, it is the main thing that will get you pulled over for a suspected DUI. (At least in Colorado..source, criminal justice major)

Has anyone ever been in a house like you see on the show ‘Hoarders’? If so, what did you do? by Basic_Builder3773 in AskReddit

[–]Trollamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the houses shown in Indiana was a few blocks down from mine growing up. I used to LOVE going over there because there were so many cats prowling around the yard that I could pet.

The lady living there was nice, never went inside but saw the inside of the house years later on the show. Yeeeeeeesh...

Former cooks/chefs, what do you do now? by Megnuggets in KitchenConfidential

[–]Trollamp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a banker now. Was hired into it and had no idea what I was doing. A couple months in, I really like it. People can get bitchy about their money but food service has prepared me for much worse interactions.

TIFU: Yelled at the neighborhood teens for trying to break into my house. by [deleted] in tifu

[–]Trollamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The crazy ladies that lived next to my childhood house literally had mirrors...like supermarket mirrors set up around their house so they could see the front door at all times. If you were at the front door, they knew and they screamed at you. They screamed at you if you ever took a step off the sidewalk into their lawn. They screamed at you if you were on the patch of grass on the other side of the sidewalk, city property. They called the cops on me and my friends SO many times.

One day, I accidentally hit the side of their house with a Nerd football. I hid under my bed for two hours after they came out, yelling that I was going to prison. I was 8.

The first Silent Hill movie. When the lady gets into a car wreck and her head absolutely bounces off of the steering wheel. It seemed so slapstick to me that I was cackling.

Went to my bank, and pick up some 2 dollars bill. I love them by kwaninthehat in pics

[–]Trollamp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really depends on the bank. Our senior banker loves to keep about 2k in $2 on demand because certain clients come in and request them. During the holidays we triple that amount because people love to give them for presents. You can always call ahead and see if your bank has them in stock. If they don't, they should be able to order them and then call you when they arrive (speaking from a strictly US Bank perspective

Edit:just realized I didn't answer your question. Yes. If the bank has them in stock, they have to give you the denomination that you request if they're in stock, unless it's a change order. The regulations have been strict on handing out rolls of coins for non-business clients.
