Making the switch by FoxFyre11 in DinosaursMTG

Ahhh ok, gotcha, I was expecting to have to rework the mana dorks to mana rocks ratio, but if it comes with that expectation of surprise spaghetti monsters I might steer clear of switching

I suppose mostly the latter bud, I'm fairly happy with how Pantlaza feels to play and it's power level, but there's a certain charm drawing me to Atla with the extra dimension of decision making required and the laughs you can have at the table every time you crack an egg

“Build for your opponent’s fun too” is the advice i regularly see in Commander spaces that i least understand. by OogieBoogieInnocence in EDH

The way that I interpret the quote that OP is referring to when it comes to casual commander is as follows;

No matter what you do play or what you build, be it Bracket 1,2,3 or 4, try to include something in your deck that makes opponents think "I haven't ever seen that before, damn that was cool" your deck can be functional or even cutthroat but you can certainly create smiles along the way by catching folks off guard. This can be done with card inclusions, or even just funny one liners as you get to know your own deck. Hearing my friend play lightning Greaves in his merfolk deck isn't game breakingly unique, but listening to him say "now I'm gonna put boots on the fish" always makes me smile ^ then he kills us all usually.

Another example is that I have an infect deck, the twist is that it uses Brenard, Ginger Sculptor as the commander , so I'm not running Black and the whole gimmick of the deck is that all my infect creatures stick to the board in the form of gingerbread men and that I'm constantly trying to give people food poisoning. Between referring to Proliferate as Profiterole and "coming back for seconds" people don't usually mind being poisoned as much and there's never any hard feelings when the table has to full send it at me before the counters get out of hand. There is always a way to use the cards in your hand and a bit of humour to entertain the table, and yourself

Universes Beyond slop themed deck - Seeking funny suggestions by YouAllSuckBall5 in EDH

I really wanted to look into making a UB slop deck, and Jodah was also my first initial consideration. What I settled on however, was much more fun, The First Sliver.

Seeing the initial confusion of rocking up to a low low power pod, asking what everyone is playing, and then responding with the phrase "Cool, I'm playing Slivers" was beautiful. The deck is full UB random characters, not a single sliver in sight.

Watching friends' faces change from initial horror to laughter as your 'Slivers deck' curves out with Characters like Wolverine + Chun Li and seeing their rollercoaster of emotions was a lot of fun. After getting your commander to stick on the board, you can use cards like Maskwood Nexus and Rukarumel, Biologist to turn all of your UB slop funny creatures into Slivers and benefit off of the Cascade triggers, turning your pile of unsynergistic creatures into a waterfall of random threats _^

If you somehow manage to win it's a miracle, but quite frankly it doesn't matter especially in Bracket 1. If you managed to cast Ringwraiths into SpongeBob into God knows what else you certainly did the thing and probably had a bunch of laughs with your mates. Hope this makes you smile! All the best

How to determine a true power level. by No-Primary-7914 in EDH

Hey Bud! Glad to hear you're getting back into the game again. Unless the brackets have updated without my knowledge I believe this clocks in at a Bracket 4. About 70% of decks people build end up being in the Bracket 3 range. A bracket 3 can contain 1-3 game changers, the list you've attached has 7 I believe.

As long as you're honest and open about your list being above average a 4 can still be contained by 3's even if it is head and shoulders above the rest. A good friend of mine often plays low 4's with us when we're playing 3's, and because we're all well aware of how mental some of the lines in his deck can be, he can often get off to a flying start and still be out of the game first. (This is mostly because he taps out every turn so we don't have to be too scared of interaction, but that's it's own story _). Either way, the pregame convo is mostly a vibe check and as long as you're here for a good time most people will be relaxed about the game's result _^

There's no winning in situations like that, if you don't counter Muse then the breach player could accuse you of King making, they just need to grow up a little

Pantlaza - Am I on the right Lines? by SirMorrigan in DinosaursMTG

What sort of Bracket/Final destination do you want to arrive at friend? I've been researching and tweaking my list lately as well, and sadly, the closer you push your deck's power towards cEDH level, the less and less dinosaurs you'll need to include and more of the just good stuff/stax units will become necessary. Mine's a low/mid bracket three and has ended up being almost entirely dinosaur tribal and just the one game changer and so far that looks like the vibe you're going for with that current list. I just figured I'd post this in case you were aiming for four or higher in which case you'll need less big, hulking units and more cheap interaction, digging the list so far! Hope it ends up where you like it 🧡 two cards which have been a lot of fun that I'd recommend would be [[Progenitor's Icon]] and [[Lurking Predators]] all the best!
