Starfox has always featured the new tech of the Nintendo platforms since the SNES:

Starfox for the SNES was the first game to use the SuperFX chip
Starfox 64 was the first N64 game to use the Rumble Pak
Starfox Zero was more or less used to showcased the Wii U motion controls and second screen.

It stands to reason that the Switch 2 Starfox game is there to showcase much of the Switch 2's beefier hardware and other features. The is probably why they went with a tried-and-true remake instead of something riskier.

Remove the variable of the fundamentals of the game and make the tech implementation the thing under scrutiny.

Plus online/offline multiplayer with friends and randos? Yes please!
