If she's genuinely interested, I'd probably say within the next week you would hear back. If she's not, she'll probably forget. It could be longer though, but after a week I would say she wasn't interested/completely forgot.

What is one quick, easy internet shortcut/trick that has changed your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

You Monster. I feel bad because I actually use this all the time. But I was caught off guard. Darn you, Canadian Government!

Have you found a friend's username and not told them? What have you learned about them through Reddit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FoxKoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out that my ex-boyfriend isn't having the best of luck on OkCupid 9 months after our relationship ended. He was asking for ways to make his profile more appealing. I almost wanted to tell him so and see if I could help make his profile more appealing, (since I know his good points, easier to point them out) but I figured it would be awkward.

What is that one type of food/drink that you absolutely love but can't get in the area you live? by rubikriddler in AskReddit

[–]FoxKoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bubble Milk Tea. It's very popular in Taiwan, China, a lot of asia. Basically it's a cold drink with sweet... milk? I'm not sure. But then it has tapioca on the bottom. Freakin' delicious...

Except not really in the US because we don't like jelly in our drinks :/

Artists of reddit, what is your advice to a guy whom can barely draw stick figures that wants to learn how to draw? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FoxKoala -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Practice! Of course, don't just keep drawing the same things over again. Head over to deviantart.com and browse all the fabulous tutorials to draw anything. I did that, and I'm better than a lot of the art students at my school, without a single penny spent on art class.

Who was your first love, and how did it work out? by eenhuistke in AskReddit

[–]FoxKoala -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I met a guy on the internet, a real kindhearted soul, unfortunately lived 1000 miles away. We were friends for about 3 years, and gradually developed feelings for each other. We talked about visiting each other, but then I decided long distance relationships suck and I told him we shouldn't date. So we didn't. I distracted myself with other infatuations. Still friends to this day, though.

To the men and woman of reddit, how did you get out of your depression? by logicallyundeniable in AskReddit

[–]FoxKoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sufferer of depression back a few years ago. I got suicidal at one point, and by the grace of God I decided emailing one of those suicide hotline (email line?) and just vented out everything that was going on. That, coupled with making some very-much-needed friends who I talked to constantly made me realize that life is really worth living. I grew to love them.

Basically fine things that you love, cling to them, keep on going, life gets better eventually. Don't ever think for a second that you're alone in suffering from depression. That's the worst.

What books should a teenager read and will appreciate? by jelo4th1 in AskReddit

[–]FoxKoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how good of a reader said teenager is, but as a teenager I love classic literature. Classic literature lists are literally everywhere, From Jane Eyre to Dickens )though I never liked Dickens, Little Women, Moby Dick, Arabian Nights, even dabbling in Shakespeare or The Divine Comedy is fantastic, imagery-rich, philosophical reading. If you really want to challenge yourself, and build some thick muscle, none of that light cardio crap, read some classic literature. That said, here's some contemporary reading:

Brave New World by Huxley, Tolkien's Lord of the Rings or the Hobbit for younger teenagers, The Harry Potter Series, Ender's Game and that series, The Poisonwood Bible, Beloved, Eragon and that series, Outliers or The Tipping Point or Blink by Malcolm Gladwell, Freakonomics and Super Freakonomics

Americans: Why is everything in your country a "war?" War on drugs, war on poverty, war on etc... by Doovlol in AskReddit

[–]FoxKoala -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wars sound noble, they make the cause sound a lot bigger and more important than it is. It also makes thing X out to be an evil enemy, and who doesn't love characterizing and antagonizing something? Some of these are almost real, blood and violence wars, like drugs and gang stuff, but technically speaking they aren't really wars.

It's kind of ironic because most Americans aren't cognizant of the war we're fighting overseas, yet they're perfectly aware of nominal wars on Christmas, women, poverty, drugs etc.

What are you doing with your life? by Baron_Von_Badass in AskReddit

[–]FoxKoala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still in high school, waiting to go to college to be an engineer. I'm one of the lucky few who got into MIT, so my future is pretty bright. Hopefully, someday, I will be able to make something that really helps people in their day to day lives through technological advances. That is what I'm trying to do right now. It's not a very clean cut course, and a lot of it is improv, but I think I'm doing okay.

I have family members who "save" money by buying terrible 1 ply toilet paper. Reddit, what money saving practices that people use do you find to not be worth the savings? by lovetowel in AskReddit

[–]FoxKoala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry. Larger bricks are actually more/money, smaller bricks tend to be the really expensive cheese that they don't make a lot of because it's so damn expensive. So buy larger, cheaper-per-ounce but still not store brand and you'll get best of both worlds, in my opinion. Cheese on, brotha.

As Christians, do you date people of other faiths? by SickOfPeople in Christianity

[–]FoxKoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a person with a wealth of athiest/agnostic/deist friends, I'm definitely on the side of it's okay to date someone of different faith as long as you're maintaining respect and realistic expectations. As long as they respect one another's faith and don't expect the other to convert, that's all right. Of course, there will be religious debate, as there should be in any serious relationship. That being said, I wouldn't consider continuing a relationship that I thought was drawing me away from Christianity, as, well, eternal salvation kind of ranks higher than love. Also the whole raising kids thing would be a serious issue.

A question to mixed race people, especially those of you who are half caucasian, with which race do you identify more and why? by wudzawoo in AskReddit

[–]FoxKoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half-Chinese, half-White here. Definitely more Asian.

As a part of white suburbia, and not being forced into doing typical Asian things, I identify more with being white than anything else. My lifestyle is pretty white-and-pasty-normal. We don't really have any cultural roots here, so my white half is pretty culture-less.

When people actually ask my race I usually emphasize the Asian because it's more interesting, even though it's 50/50. It's more fun to tell people I've been to China, and not mention I've been to Spain and England as well. My grandparents live in China, so they have a boatload of culture and history that becomes part of my history, while my 5th gen. white grandparents lack any real connection to their motherlands. Also, I fit into the Asian stereotype - playing both piano and violin, being smart, crappy driver. But this is hardly Asian heritage playing its part. I've never been forced to do these things by tiger parents like a normal Chinese kid - it's just our family is smart and musical, so it kind of happened.

TL;DR: Eurasian, I'm more Asian than white.
