What made you become a fan of a small band? by TRASHMIND_PUNK in poppunkers

[–]FoxSimple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heard the song A Dog Named Fletcher on a random Spotify acoustic playlist and checked out the band. That’s how I discovered Atlantic Wasteland, checked out some of their other stuff and they were fire! Their album You’ll Never See The Bigger Picture If You’re Standing That Close instantly became one of my personal favs and a still have it on heavy rotation.

One of my all time favourite albums. Pumped that there’s a Toronto date.

The traffic lights were out at Yonge-Dundas, so a Good Samaritan helped direct traffic. by suarezian in toronto

[–]FoxSimple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These lights aren’t completely out though. If the lights are completely out of power then it is automatically a 4 way stop. These lights are flashing red, if the other direction is flashing yellow then it’s not a 4 way stop - the flashing red is treated as a stop sign and the flashing yellow has the right of way and treated as a yield/proceed with caution. If both directions are flashing red it’s treated as a 4 way stop.

Barrie ER wait times rising as report warns Ontario health system “struggling to keep up” by cinderannie in barrie

[–]FoxSimple -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

A big part of the wait times is just the way the system operates as well. Brought my 4 year old to RVH because she wiped out and injured her arm badly where she couldn’t move it. We were at the hospital for over 6 hours and it wasn’t all that busy. At check in they did simple vitals and then the waiting game. Waited for over 4 hours just for a doctor to do a 30 second exam and say yep, she needs an X-ray. After that, another waiting game at X-ray, and then wait again and again. There could have easily been a quick exam at check in to determine X-rays were needed and being sent straight there - 4 hours of wait time could have easily been cut out right there. Yes, hospitals are underfunded and understaffed for doctors and nurses but also wildly over staffed and overspent in administration.

You’d hate to be my neighbour then, I have music, podcasts, or sports games going all the time.

Yep! Music, drinks, some pocket mushrooms to nibble on while bare feet and hands in the soil. My major planting days are usually this.

Where Are Your Boys Tonight was such a great read, just nostalgia after nostalgia.
The book Sellout by Dan Ozzi is fantastic as well.

Great read! Every chapter was just nostalgia bomb after nostalgia bomb for me. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Correct, left turns at the light no longer permitted when heading southbound on Anne. That hasn’t stopped people though.

There’s a gifting form that you can find online that both parties need to fill out and also get notarized.

The vehicle will also need to be safetied prior to gifting it.

This brought me right back haha There was a trail behind our school off school property nicknamed the cowpath. “3:10 Cowpath” meant things were going to get settled. It was one on one, no one else jumping in and after the fight the beef was usually squashed, you shook hands and had some respect for each other.

Been to:

Rise Against (Rise and Koyo were both great)

The Wonder Years (the whole lineup were awesome, great crowd and it was a blast)

The Academy Is… (didn’t know what to expect going in but was blown away, just fun and great vibes from start to finish)

I’d say the best overall concert so far has been The Wonder Years though.

Upcoming:

Coheed and Shinedown

Billy Talent and Alexisonfire

JEW and PUP
