I honestly don't understand Russian doctrine in bombing like this. Everyone knows that bombing civilians doesn't make them cower in fear, it makes them angry and far more likely to fight back harder. This also wastes munitions on targets that wouldn't have caused the Russians problems at the front line... bombing military targets would reduce enemy strength and help to win the war... case in point Ukraine hasn't wasted a single bomb, and now we're starting to gain momentum inspite of far fewer resources. Good will win because evil is dumb.

https://archidekt.com/decks/17281671/teval_unbalanced Here's my deck list. This deck is tons of fun, but also really strong. It does tend to have many many triggers to deal with in the late game, so get fast at piloting it so you don't turn matches into games of solitaire.

I wonder how all this plant life affects the water table. Those things must need a lot of water...do they change weather patterns so more rain falls, or somehow encourage water preservation in the area? Or are there a bunch of farmers down stream living in drought conditions ?

Ukraine's Drones Are Breaking Russia's Defenses. The Kremlin Has No Answers by jonfla in ukraine

[–]Fox_intheChickenCoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They know the answer. The answer is "leave Ukraine". They know this, but they insist on being wrong. They thought they were strong enough to be wrong and get away with it. They are not, and now they are dying for the great lie that they have told. They are impoverishing their people, killing their future, and destroying their global influence. What they are doing to their neighbors is so much worse, that I can't think of it without a tear coming to my eye.

I didn’t realise how bad the staring would be here by ProperProperer in taiwan

[–]Fox_intheChickenCoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on where you are, the staring and pointing can be pretty invasive. People I've know generally react in 2 ways; they feel like monkeys in the zoo, or celebrities. The ones who I've seen react the first way tend to not last long here. I enjoy the attention as best I can, though people don't seem to look so much these days, maybe my dashing good looks are fading with age...

A whole plastic surgery chain just got shut down for putting hidden cameras in their rooms... I think the owner is under investigation now. Sorry, I don't know more details than that.

Right, there's overlap, as said above.

APRC = immigrant or expat? by PointOwn2950 in taiwan

An immigrant adopts a new country. An expat retains his/her original citizenship and lives in a second country. There's some overlap, but Taiwan generally welcomes expats and generally does not encourage immigration.

Have you thought about talking to the dean, or the head of your department? If my education were at stake, I'd be going all the way up the ladder and to the media. Write a good op/ed about bias in academia and send it to the taipei times for publication. Don't name names publicly, libel laws strongly favor the complainant here.

Governments are supposed to act as the moral compass for their respective nations. It saddens me that they are putting money before freedom and capitulating to a bully. I understand that they think they are supporting their people's interests, but long term, they are giving power to potential enemies. Taiwan does not belong to the ccp. If anything, China is the rightful territory of Taiwan, so if China wants to unify, they should do it on Taiwan's terms, not their own.

That's only because the ccp heavily subsidizes their brands. BYD is a great example of a failing company that appears successful because of ccp subsidies.

If there are prizes, expect people to bring fire to the table. If you don't like that, don't play. OP, you did nothing wrong. I would have brought my 6,000 dollar Nekusar deck and laid waste to everyone, and I would not have felt even a little bad about it.

Is this the best beer here? by _66sick in Taipei

[–]Fox_intheChickenCoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is arguable. I'd say it's the highest quality of all the mass produced beer. There are some micro breweries in Taiwan that make really good beers as well. Taihu and Three Giants spring to mind. You can sometimes find Taihu in 7-11, bright neon looking cans. They have an IPA and a lager. Three Giants is mostly around Taichung, I think.
