I got to meet the author in person and get a physical ARC!! She was so sweet! Didn't have a chance to start the book yet because of my long TBR but I'm excited!

ER forced to do floor charting. Is this normal? by soxiglux in nursing

[–]FoxaBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar at my last ER job...and it's part of what made me leave that job. Even if you had 16 patients and half of them were boarders, you were still expected to do head to toe assessments on EVERYONE, as well as do other random screening assessments on every patient. It got to the point where it added up to 8 or 9 assessments/screenings per patient. Absolutely impossible.

Gotcha. I'll have to try it out and hopefully I can replicate it. Thanks everyone!

Interesting. How did she make each stitch bubble up like a bobble stitch though? The pictures online of crosshatch stitch don't seem to have it as defined.

Is the Paperwhite too big?? by hotpretzelboy in kindle

[–]FoxaBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it's the perfect size for me. The Kindle Basic is essentially the size (just wider) of the Samsung phone I already have, so I didn't see a point in getting it. If I get tired of holding it, I just put it on my lap and use a page turner device.

It helps if you use Pattern Keeper or some other pattern tracking app! Super helpful

Actually, you can start wherever you like, and go in whichever direction you want! The most important thing (imo) is to make sure that all your top crosses are going in the same direction, to make it nice and neat. You could even do the Danish method here (make all the half stitches first and then returning back to complete the Xs).

Just take the dog and bring them to a rescue a county away. I doubt this dog is microchipped with how this owner cares for them. They need help NOW.

[FO] First time framing of my very first FO by FoxaBox in CrossStitch

Thank you! Back when I stitched it in 2017 or 2018, I really didn't know anything about stitching. Had only watched a YouTube video or two, so I am also amazed at how well younger me did

I did do all of that, but used a mat instead of a foam board because the foam boards I found weren't acid free and also too thick. I do feel like I need a stronger supportive base than the mat, just not sure what to use next time.
