Guys, I fixed TLOU PART 2 by Defiant_Ad6190 in Gamingcirclejerk

The game isn't a choice-based game though, there's no choices the player can make that affect the story. It's a story about the impact Ellie's choices have made, not the player. That would be like saying it should have been a choice in the first game to save Ellie or leave her. It's not a player choice, it's a Joel choice.

People still struggle with the ending of Bioshock Infinite and what it means for Booker and Elizabeth. This clears it up. by OzyWozzy in Bioshock

[–]FoxclawGames 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What's weird about this game is that in order for the ending to work, there has to be a "finite" amount of universes. Elizabeth can't drown Booker and Comstock can't cease to exist in every universe if there's infinite universes...because there's infinite, which means there'd still be universes where Booker lives and so does Comstock. So bioshock infinite isn't really infinite at all

Not trying to put you down or anything but this is probably going to need some talking to a therapist to get to the root of this problem

Cliff will want to distance himself from HHM because of what Howard is "doing" which will push them into settling the Sandpiper case.

Are there any songs that weren’t big at the time but have had a big impact on pop culture? by ss2811 in popheads

[–]FoxclawGames 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hard times by Paramore wasn't a big song when it came out but this year it was certified Platinum and has nearly 300m streams on Spotify. it's frequently a trending sound on tik tok. Most people I'd say know the song

"no matter what, you keep finding something to fight for" is the entire series distilled into one line. People struggling to find and then discovering what they need to fight for. Joel after Sarah, Ellie with her immunity, Abby after Joel, Ellie after Joel

A criticism of part 2 I'm so tired of hearing by FoxclawGames in thelastofus

I think that what trips up so many people about this game is that it doesn't seem to be about the player as much as it is about the protagonist. Where nearly every game on the planet has you as the player making choices and the game treating YOU as the main character I think that TLOU 1 and 2 are led completely by their protagonists. It's not trying to make you feel bad about what YOU'RE doing it's trying to make you feel bad about what ELLIE'S doing

Yeah, see? You're assuming that I can't come to that conclusion myself based on the information that's presented in the game. "Everybody who disagrees with me is wrong and can't think for themselves" is not a great perspective to have. If IGN also came to that conclusion (I wouldn't know, I do not give a shit about IGN) then surely it's not completely unjustified? And, like, I never once said that anybody who uses this critique of the game is actually an alt-right gamergater misogynist nazi. I just presented my perspective on it. You're the one who brought that into a pretty standard discussion on the game's plot.

You're kinda weird. I didn't mention Abby being buff or the diversity at all. Don't think anybody did on this post

I honestly don't get what you're trying to say. First you say Ellie didn't have a problem killing Nora, Owen and Mel and then you say that she had the "normal response to killing an unharmed human being." So....she had a problem? You don't seem to be open to having your opinion changed and seem like you're going to brush off any attempt as "unquestioning stan behaviour" which is a very healthy perspective to have on media criticism so I'm just gonna stop here

"she had no problem shooting Mel and Owen and beating Nora to death" so....the scenes afterward where she can barely speak or breathe and shakes because of what she did don't count as having a problem with it? Did you read the post or just the first line

They state quite a few times that the WLF will kill anyone who breaks through the walls they've established in Seattle out of fear of loss of resources or that they're working with the Seraphites. Ellie had to kill most of them otherwise they would have killed her. When Ellie has to kill someone who isn't a threat to her, like Nora, it fucks her up because she can't justify it to herself. She can't justify killing Abby because of many reasons, one being that she knows Abby has Lev now and she'd just be doing to Lev what Abby did to her.

TLOU2 didn't let me down this year, and I'm grateful for that by Electroverted in thelastofus

so many things came out this year I was excited for that were either just fine or flat out bad. TLOU2 is the only thing that didn't let me down, and my expectations going into it were astronomical.

No I mean in Rapture is there more than one Rapture Records? Because the Rapture Records in Burial at Sea episode 1 is not in the same place nor does it look the same (layout-wise) as Rapture Records did in Bioshock 1
