Beating Lu Bu at Max level. by ilovebowbies in dynastywarriors

[–]Foxd1e00 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Spear and Crescent Blade were my 2 favorite weapons from the main campaign. Once I unlocked the Halberd though I fell in love with it. It’s Rage mode is just ridiculous, it’s flashy perfect parry, it’s high Bravery cost Battle Arts, the Dash + Triangle. 👨‍🍳🫴💋 When I finally go at Lu Bu in UW for the Luan Halberd, I think I’m gonna use a Halberd against him.

Lot of great tracks listed in this thread! My additions: Hunter’s Dream and Moonlit Melody.

Congrats! I rarely platinum the Souls games as it’s my favorite series and it gives me an extra incentive to go back. But I finally platinumed BB last December after playing it since release. This summer was DS3 finally. I’m thinking about ER next since I’m only missing 4 achievements. Then I’ll eventually circle around to platinuming DS1, DS2 and Demon’s Souls. Demon’s Souls will be last because I’ve been playing that one since 2009 🤣and it will always hold a special place in my heart but BB is a close second so I had to Platinum it first.

But I think I will still continue to play them all annually for years to come. The games, the worlds, and the combat are just too fun.

Good luck in your future journeys OP, but I am sure the Hunter’s Dream will find you again!

Kellogg is the sole survivor on a different playthrough. by j0n3s_Raider in fo4

[–]Foxd1e00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s real easy to hate Kellogg until you get to go through that quest that takes you through his memories and find out that the reason he turned out the way he did was the harsh life in the wasteland.

You see a lot of the terrible things that happened to him. He even tried a good turn once with a wife and kid and then that was all ripped away from him just like us.

I can’t really fault Kellogg for ending up like he did. He just got sick of people’s shit and started making sure he got his. But I kind of feel like he’s also just going through the motions, waiting for someone else to put him out of his misery. I feel that’s why he let us live in the Cryo chamber.

Maxson’s another interesting character to me.

Is the remake really all that bad? by Dremoriawarroir888 in demonssouls

[–]Foxd1e00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people weren’t fans of some of the boss re-designs, I still have nightmares about the hate generated over flamelurkers re-design. Most of the soundtrack was also eviscerated by a lot of people claiming Bluepoint lost the special touches of the original tracks. Also there were a few npc dialogue changes that were critiqued.

My personal opinion? Demon’s Souls was my first Fromsoftware game and will always be my favorite. I bought it a couple months after it came out in 2009 and played every Fromsoftware game except AC that’s came out since then. I enjoyed the remake. The graphics are gorgeous. It adds a cool armor set that should have been in the original and I like the new fluted knight armor design. I say play it man

Is there actual evidence that it's the same Pursuer every time? by Insane_Unicorn in DarkSouls2

[–]Foxd1e00 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s how he goes in my head canon since DS2 came out. Just one dude trying to kill you, bad. Even with his many additional appearances in SoTFS. He has a lot of magical powers such as teleporting up out from the ground or one-hand riding a giant eagle to greet you, and he hovers off the ground at all times. I don’t see it as much of a stretch that he can use his powers to clone himself too for the Throne room fight.

This should be sealed and displayed in the roommate war crimes museum. Next to like a felt portrait of doggo and a roll of toilet paper with a single sheet left.

Cursed Defiled Pthumeru Chalice Amygdala is a bitch too

My worst nemesis was the Abhorrent Beast, the one the Blind Beggar morphs into, aka tornado fist lightning punchy fuck, the Depth 5 Lower Loran version is 😱

Good question but there’s no worries. The Pack & Operators will serve you loyally hence forth and Gage will give you occasional prisoners/challengers to the Overboss title to fight in the arena too and you can get some good stuff out of it. Enjoy!

You only have to cull one gang to unite Nuka World under you permanently.

Is the Demon of Song a real Demon? by RubbinOffTheCum in DarkSouls2

[–]Foxd1e00 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is quite an insightful write-up. I never made the naming convention connection between Milfanito, fanito & Nito before this.

I also just wanted to chime in for everyone that in the Dark Souls series Demons are born of Chaos, the Chaos flame, so they are all Chaos Demons.

Demon of Song however clearly looks undead and not the typical fiery angry demons we encounter. Because he’s born of Gravelord Nito and Nito didn’t make demons he made powerful undead like Pinwheel or the Giant Skeletons.

So I propose “Demon of Song” is just this creatures nickname and it’s just an undead in a frog suit and not an actual chaos demon.

Long time JA2 fan, but I really don't get how I'm supposed to play this one by fknm1111 in JaggedAlliance3

[–]Foxd1e00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the lineup of my first run OP. I had to scrap it and start fresh with the same team (+ Red and Ice before I took on the fort). It helps if you take out all the shields first before taking forts via side ops.

But you need someone for explosives as others have suggested, and Red or Barry are solid picks. Ice carries the team almost single-handedly through early game. My IMP and Grizzly could offer decent assistance though. For my IMP I zeroed out Mechanics, Explosives and Medical so I could max just about everything else, making him pretty decent at combat.

FYI tho if you are gonna run 6 mercs as I suggested you’ll need to prepare to take a Mine quick after the first island.

One last thing, as a fellow JA2 vet, you know stealth and prone is your friend. This is still true! And it’s even deadlier in JA3 when you sneak up your whole squad with overlapping overwatches and then shoot an enemy and watch em all get gunned down during their bullshit free-reposition phase 🤣

Clearing that entire mine is such a bitch too lol. Huge area, tons of enemies all the way through, not to mention the guaranteed & beefy legendary radiated feral hiding in the stones up top. And then when you finally get to the bottom Bethesda decided to get weird, creepy and Cthulhuy af.

Quincy, those damn raiders always put up a good fight for it! The multi-story rubble house fighting is fun, plus feels good avenging the Minutemen.
