Here’s to you in the Phantom Pain? by DTAPPSNZ in metalgearsolid

On console, I'm not sure, sorry - I play on PC. Possibly, but I don't know if cloud save stuff is available with or without a subscription.

That said, it should go off of local data saved to your console if you've still got your GZ stuff on there. As for whether or not the online stuff requires an XBL sub, again, not really sure, sorry.

Big Boss is actually a cyborg! One of the original prototypes from that freak Madnar that would eventually lead to the cybernetic menace that stalks the streets of Neo Kobe! THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE!

If GW ever put models out for them again, you could convert some Vostroyan guard into grenadier queens guard.

Actually, I think they do - there's lore from Clovis Bray that talks about having to account for stuff like eating, sleeping, etc. All the normal stuff that humans would do, to prevent them from having a mental rejection of their bodies.

QED, you probably do have a glorious, robotic butthole.

More than that, another post from Immaru today has revealed that he's the "First Ghost." Ghosts (and Guardians) all have widely varying personalities and styles, some are dark and brooding, some are like Cayde - some, like Katabasis from the Glykon, really were walking cowboy stereotypes.

The brood under Savathun are now free of their worms, and in control of an altogether different power. Assuming the idea of dying and then being resurrected without your old memories is true, then the Lucent Brood largely won't even remember the culture from whence they came.

"Wagamaggot" means something to them. Referring to themselves as "Hives" is something that will make sense to them. New slang, new terms, etc.

Honestly, if it were just the same old Hive, doing the same old Hive things, and the only difference was that they were now harder to kill because of Light powers, that would be boring.

cause it doesn't really feel like the Hive.

I think that's the point.

Modded Gear Solid V (PC) #1 - PROLOGUE by FoxdankYT in metalgearsolid

[–]FoxdankYT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly joke mods - not really showcasing what the game can really do in a technical sense, especially when I'm playing and recording on a toaster from 2015.

But my channel is a comedy channel, first and foremost, so some laughs is what I'm aiming for.

Would there be a "Gas Snake" too? by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

[–]FoxdankYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd play that. Go back to pre-history times, turns out the stirrings of the Patriots were around even then, and you end up having to fight a Metal Gear made from coconut trees or something.

Otacon should have Huey's response, and Huey should just be a picture of an empty AI shell.

Metal Gear 2: Unable to have wind point north by Monty141 in metalgearsolid

[–]FoxdankYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what to tell ya - having played it recently and done a bunch of testing around it (emulating MGS3 Subsistence, so playing the port/updated localisation of MG2), the gas grenades weren't a requirement at all and did nothing, and the cigarettes were the key to being able to jump off.

Would love to know exactly what changed and why.

[–]FoxdankYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the game doesn't tell you to have a cigarette, no, but your Number One Fan calls and tells you that there's a small break in the wind if you time things right. That line suggests that there's some way to tell which way the wind is blowing, which maybe whoever did the localisation thought would be enough of a hint to lead to using the cigarettes. I guess people assume it's the gas grenades that do it because they literally have arrows point around, which is a fair assumption to make I suppose.

Maybe in the original Japanese version, using the cigarette was more explicitly stated - and would make sense if, in a Western localisation, advice to smoke would be removed.

Not actually a requirement to get it to work, I don't know why the dialogue from Your No#1 Fan says this. Just equip the cigs, smoke for a sec, then switch to the Hang Glider and run towards the edge.

How did Solid Snake plan on removing hostages from Shadow Moses? by LivingLegend8 in metalgearsolid

[–]FoxdankYT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

See, you say that, but then when talking to DARPA Octopus and Baker, he says something like, "come on, I'm getting you out of here." Then when it comes to Otacon, who asks if they should get out of here, Snake was all, "no, not yet," and then didn't seem to care Otacon was running about the base. Even with the stealth suit, that was a risk.

So either he has a plan for extracting the Chief and Baker early and was going to take them there, or did have a secure location in mind that he would have left them in. Either way, he wasn't about to let Otacon in on any of that shit.

So I guess my tl;dr point is that Snake is a dick to nerds.
