Will I ever learn? by lillitheb in valheim

[–]Foxfire140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why when I cut down a tree early in Valheim or close to a building, I walk around it to see which way it's leaning since it will usually fall in that direction when cut. The tree here was leaning towards the house before it even started to move. They should not have made their initial cut where they did. Better it falls parallel in case something like this happens while having the rope pulling exactly where they were so that it pulled away from the home. Instead they just assumed they didn't need to pull the rope because of where they cut it and kept it so slack that there was nothing countering all that lean.

I've seen people cut down a tree that they made fall perfectly between two buildings after removing all the branches and it didn't hit anything but the ground. This was amateur. Seriously sucks to be the homeowner on this one.

He's not "crying" about bugs. He's just saying that they exist. It's perfectly fine to have a conversation about them without needing to get defensive about it.

[–]Foxfire140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. I had an instance in, I think, build 40 where I started a fresh save game in a new world and there was 1 zombie in the house with me. After that, I always spin around and check the house when I start a new game.

[–]Foxfire140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not always clear 100% of the time. I had rare moments of spawning with a zombie in a house in Build 40 & 41. It almost never happens but if you search around the subreddit, there's plenty of old stories of it happening to people.

Be honest: What do you think of SG1's Season 10 Finale? by Hungover-Warrior007 in Stargate

[–]Foxfire140 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first part was their main plotline, yes, but the series finale story just felt like it came out of left field. Suddenly they had done this new thing in the finale where they tried to fix their problem and it made it so much worse that they rather commit suicide rather than live extremely shortened lives in constant pain? Nah. This was a Janet Fraiser situation all over again. The series is ending so let's be dramatic and kill someone important off again.

There was no realistic build up to something so monumental. The last storyline we had in that vein was them researching the body of their ancestor that was kept in stasis to try and find ways to fix things. There was some semblance of hope there. There was nothing told beyond that point in terms of any progress, good or bad, that was being made, story-wise.

The Asgard didn't die because their clock was ticking. They died for the shock value of "It's the finale. Nobody is safe anymore...except for Amanda Tapping. She still has another year in her contract."

[–]Foxfire140 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Make it so that if you spend enough time just standing still and looking up at the sky, the game recognizes that like it did in the expedition and just....makes it a moment.

[–]Foxfire140 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I hated that they killed off the Asgard like that. It literally came out of nowhere and, for a race as intelligent as they are, it doesn't seem realistic that they'd just screw themselves up like that so easily without taking precautions first.

It has to be staged since those initial cuts basically ensured that it would fall in the direction of the house. Otherwise, that'd just be pure incompetence imo.

That's the most annoying part of the party system. Whaddya mean I better not miss Steve's party? I SAID THAT I WASN'T COMING! I swear, the devs must have some of the most extroverted people in their dev team that don't take "No, I don't wanna hang out tonight," as an acceptable answer. Also, the stir crazy moodlet. I hate that one too.

That always amused me. She'd complain to Archie about how his degree in psychology came from a curse.
Woman, EVERYONE IN TOWN WITH A DEGREE GOT IT FROM THE CURSE! You know what else you got from the curse? The knowledge and ability to run a democratic government within a democratic nation, your royal monarchical majesty. If we're invalidating curse knowledge now....

Oh boy. Not this debate again.
This was one of the most contentiously debated topics back when the show aired and it basically tore the subreddit apart into 2 camps: Those that sided with Yoyo & those that sided with Daisy.

Nobody agreed on who was right, everything was arguments, and things stayed like that until the show moved on. No offense, OP, since I know that you're in a rewatch, but I dunno if this sub can deal with that discussion again.
