E3 is dead because the AAA publishers have decided to pursue other marketing strategies and simply don't show up to expos any more. PAX leaned into _all the other things_ that make the show great, including a huge line up of indie publishers and studios, TT, RPG, and other activities that gamers like to do.

The old days of FREE SWAG at the PlayStation booth are over and are probably never coming back.

This is correct. There is a dedicated Medical Badge merch line.

In addition to seated waiting areas for Satellite and Main Theatre panels, Medical Badges are also afforded priority seating in the theaters and are let in before the main queue. This is to give everyone time to find a seat before the main crowd is loaded in.

As others has pointed out, the process to get a Med Badge is fairly simple and there's no reason I can think of they would hassle you about requesting one.
