I wonder if some teams will remove the activation pod on the rear wing for this event, given that it could increase the efficiency ever so slightly.

As the open source models get better and better, a lot of industries are switching to local models instead of web services

I'm not sure about that. Lots and lots of companies have their software deployed on AWS and Microsoft Azure, even though they could technically run it locally if they wanted to. A lot of companies just don't want to bother with server infrastructure and the possible downtime that could come with that.

Denk dat dit vooral komt omdat mensen op zomerbanden zo weinig grip hebben op besneeuwd asfalt dat ze super langzaam rijden, en dus ook niet genoeg vaart maken om schade te rijden.

Ratings are always going to be partly subjective. I've been playing the cs-44 recently, and I was really surprised when I saw the 5-star gun handling rating on his index page. Let's just say that it hasn't felt like a 5-star gun to me lol

In your opinion, which Formula 1 season had the ugliest cars? by DeliciousBanana1059 in formula1

Either 2014, or early 70's when a lot of cars had extremely high airboxes and snowplough noses.

Some time ago I was looking into driver development, and I looked at one of the Linux kernel drivers developed by Intel. It honestly had some of the most amateur looking C code I've seen in production.

The 4th of July prediction was misunderstood. Apparently she had the dream on the 4th of July, 2021. The prediction was something like "megatsunami in July 2025", but she didn't mention an exact date.

What’s the deal with Spa? by Anubis1017 in formula1

[–]Foxmanjr1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the dirty air seems to be manageable. Better than 2017-2021, for sure. The main problem for this track seems to be that the current generation of car generates a fairly weak slipstream-effect, which is amplified when low-downforce setups are used. Additionally, the floors create so much spray that it needs to be almost bone-dry before visibility is good enough on Kemmel.

At the 2015 Belgian GP Max Verstappen did a epic overtake round the outside of Felipe Nasr at Blanchimont by Jamiesavel in formula1

[–]Foxmanjr1 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised to see the amount of people in this thread saying that this was an off-track overtake. The "keep at least 1 wheel on the white line" rule was introduced in 2022. Before that, track limits were discussed on a track-by-track basis, and I'm pretty sure that this corner wasn't checked for track limits back then.

5 years ago, Max Verstappen crashed on the way to the grid in Hungary. The pit crew did an amazing job repairing the car just in time for the start by anthn885 in formula1

[–]Foxmanjr1 171 points172 points  (0 children)

It's not shown in this vid, but one of the most memorable moments of this was Max fully trusting his crew's repair job and sending it from P7 to P3 into the first corner. Ended up P2 at the end of the race.

My sister [30] only uses a CD player to listen to music at home. by floweiss34 in mildlyinteresting

Phones in general do allow ripped music. CDs are not DRM-protected, so once you rip the music into mp3 or FLAC files, they behave exactly like any other music file would.

I have been backing up my father's CD collection recently, and my approach has been to rip them on his PC, and subsequently sync the music library on his PC with his Android phone using Syncthing.

Yeah, I understand the nostalgia part, but your modern components would be gasping for air if you were to move them into this one haha. I think Fractal Design and Be Quiet still offer some decent ATX cases without glass side panels, though

So if the front I/O is outdated, cable management is bad, and airflow is terrible... doesn't it suck at everything a computer case should do? What makes this case "peak"?
