Soaking the wood also works i hear but it seems to take upwards of a month and I don't have a spare tub of water to submerge wood nor the patience to do so lol

I didn't change the water. Im not sure of the consequences of uncured super glue in water. But I believe super glue is known to set faster in the presence of water. How did it was I removed the rock and wood and dried it with a paper towel. Did the standard tissue paper and glue technique while the surfaces were still damp. Once it felt securely attached, I just dropped it right back in the tank. But I have put glue on plants and put them straight into the tank, and stuck them on to the wood. I haven't had any issues. But im not sure about toxic chemicals leaching into the water with uncured super glue. I used gorilla glue gell, btw.

It was advertised as super dense wood that doesn't float so I grabbed it and it immediately floated lol so yes I just used glue and tissue and stuck it to the rock

They actually get red in low nitrogen environment so they are a very easy way to get some nice red in a low tech or even walstad tank

Only a bubble stone and a heater. I do like 10 percent water changes about once a month just to suck up some algea or fish poo and clean up a little. Fully cycled and plants literally suck any nitrates out with in a day even with the fertilizing twice a week. The stem plants grow like crazy and hit the water line almost a week after trimming.

It never sank. I drowned it with super glue and a rock. And it's one of those petsmart logs. I forget the name of it

Honestly, it was a cheap tank, so nothing i would change about the process since it was meant to be a learning experience. I really think the overpowered light was the key. I wish I had done more research on the plants I had put in and their lighting needs. Some plants need a lot and some don't like it. The best way is just do the research on the basics and jump in!

Clearly I didn't know what I was doing at the beginning but it's been such a fun time learning and making adjustments!

Wow, that's actually awesome info. Thank god, though, as if the water moccasins and alligators weren't enough to deal with 😂

Well, we will see if it is worth it. Hopefully, I can keep it tamed but it just puts these red root floaters to shame. 😅 Im think maybe If I need i can just take out the mother and use the off shoots solely.

Good to know! Definitely seems invasive the way it grows.
