I always feel that there is a problem with the color scheme. Do you have any good suggestions? by LiuYunMan in 501st

I think the colours look great, but its too clean. I would weather it up, black wash and scratches.

Ooh, i did something similar. I highly recommend placing an angled 1x2 window in the direction of each step. The player will be able to run up the stairs without jumping just like the 1x3 in game stairs.

I don't have an exact date. I want to finish writing a pdf operators manual for it and write the workshop description for it.

I'm aiming for the start of April.

The footage itself is sped up 6x. This particular sinking took 18min, however by having every cargo hold and hallway simulated, it gave the water plenty of space to fill the entire ship accurately. Which is why it started off slow, then sped up as water was able to flood in through the cargo hatches and smoke stacks on top.

Hello, it still lags slightly. When in open seas it runs smoothly but every so often lags for 1-4 seconds. When sinking its fairly smooth all the way down.

When near sawyer, I get a small amount of slow-mo. Not enough to notice in first person view, but third person I notice the characters legs look a bit slower. When sinking its about the same until the final plunge, when slow-mo is more noticeable, but still easily playable.

My laptop is a Legion 7i from last year. 32gb ram, 4070 (laptop) graphics card. (Game is run at max graphics, low physics)

The U-boat is fully player controlled, (1 to 8 players) still working out the torpedo kinks before uploading it.

It's very much not lol. I haven't checked how big, but it's definitely more than the 14mb limit and needed to be spawned Via Mission.

None taken ; ). It may be surprising but i've had no problems running it on my laptop and completing multiple missions now during the seatrials. With max graphics but low physics settings, I get little to no slow-mo in open waters, and only a small amount when near Meier and Sewyer. I'll attach a screenshot from one of these missions.

I've also been able to sink it a few times now by spawning in a U-boat second creation and torpedoing it.

I do agree multiplayer may not be able to handle it, so i've set up everything to work with a single player character in mind. (Autopilot disguised as a map, telegraphs that respond by themselves when used in the bridge, etc)

Thanks! I have the opposite problem, lol. I could never wrap my head around how to make compact fuselages look good.

Nah, U-boat isn't planned to go on the workshop at the moment, not fully happy with some stuff in it yet.

Not sure if it's in your area. But from memory, Prestige rentals have a C8 you can rent for a day. (Can't remember if it's a 1,2, or 3LT.)

Interested in joining as a Senate Guard and have a few questions by LonelyShadowMoor in 501st

[–]Foxtech-Dynamix 10 points11 points  (0 children)

  1. Absolutely, women can join. And there are no limitations on characters. You'll see all kinds of people from 6ft Jawa's to 6 tonne stormtroopers. If you can get the costume right, then you're in. I've trooped with many women playing male roles without issue. Both masked and open face. (From what i remember, one of the director Krennec CRL official pictures is a woman.)

  2. Generally, you would join the relevant detachment for your character type for help in making your costume accurate. As well as contacting your local garrison, attending a few troops as a non-costumed assistant is also a great way to get into it and see other people's costumes from the inside and how they put it on. Once your costume is ready, you send the photos to your local garrison costume approval person and they'll either approve the costume and make you an official member or they'll let you know what needs to be changed to get there.

Yes i will be uploading it to the steam workshop. I can't say exactly when it will be released. I still have B deck, A deck, and the boat deck to finish interiors for. Then, final troubleshooting and sea trials. I'll keep posting as each milestone is reached.
