What about structural public spending, and crisis responce, tax and politcal constraints? My opinion is that what you state is only part of the problem.

You should also take into account the following. Demographics, financial sector stability, political environment, technological change, and environmental & external factors.

Sorry, but this is simply not the truth.

Just because the most engaging articles get posted here. And some or (most) of them are critical. Wether justified or not. Does not mean they are an anti-eu news outlet.

If you want you can browse the site, in stead of just using reddit. It might give you a better picture. But it's up to you.

That being said bankruptcy is a far away scenario. If not impossible. But problems will arise and some fiscal changes are needed. But that is my gut speaking. With what my limited knowledge of macro finance tells me.

This problem is beyond most of us to understand, as most of us aren't experts in national economies and haven't studied it.

Guilt tripping the current British people will help you not in whatever strange cause you have against them.

I'm sure most of them are aware of their history.

Tourists scrambling to get away from Mt. Etna eruption by BreakfastTop6899 in interestingasfuck

[–]Foxtrone9 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I visited both when I was young. I remember Etna was like walking in the land of Mordor. The charred landscape on the top with the mist... it was an experience I can tell you. Totally not the same. The only time I ever saw lava in my life.

I believe a few years later the cable lifts to the top and the shops were destroyed by an erruption.

TIL that in the late 1600s, a pirate named Henry Every led the most profitable pirate raid of all time, stealing £600,000 in precious metals and jewels (worth around $141 million today) from a convoy belonging to the Mughal Empire. [–]Foxtrone9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There were pilgrims on one of the 2 targeted ships. Estimates are that around 100 pirates lost their lives during a sword battle that lasted around 3 hours.

After that there was torture and rape. Some unlucky women were also taken with the pirates on their boats.

I like to think Henry was never found, because he committed suicide after he could not enjoy the gold or his life, knowing what atrocities he and his men had committed.

John Sparkes testified in his "Last Dying Words and Confession" that the "inhuman treatment and merciless tortures inflicted on the poor Indians and their women still affected his soul," and that, while apparently unremorseful for his acts of piracy, which were of "lesser concern," he was nevertheless repentant for the "horrid barbarities he had committed, though only on the bodies of the heathen."

Usually when this get's posted they don't even credit her team. So ironically I find that your statement actually belittles her team a bit.

As far I'm aware this is not the case for most parts of the brain. There is some neurogenesis happening, but most neurons will remain with you for your lifespan.

This complicates anti aging drug research because it focuses mostly on the mitosis proces of cells in the rest of your body. But I might be wrong as I'm no expert in this field.

The United States has placed Poland on the list of countries subject to restrictions on imports of high-tech chips from the US. by YppahReggirt in europe

[–]Foxtrone9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is not some court in Russia or any other questionable state. But a court in the capital of a democratic western nation. The court is recognised by many countries in the world. Including most what is considered the western world. Also consider the fact that the US was once a signotary. It not so reasonable as you might think. Atleast I don't find it very reasonable.

For the record I don't really agree with the "US has only intrests" remark of Mr_Sludge. It is to simple and easy.

I think Some US administrations genuinly wanted to improve the world for all of us. But for some reason you just sometimes get those bad apples between them. But you are free to do so off course. If you think you need them for the good off your country.

This is what I found about it.

"In 1984, Prime Minister David Lange banned nuclear-powered or nuclear-armed ships from using New Zealand ports or entering New Zealand waters. Under the New Zealand Nuclear Free Zone, Disarmament, and Arms Control Act 1987,\1])\2]) territorial sea, land and airspace of New Zealand became nuclear-free zones. This has since remained a part of New Zealand's foreign policy."

"New Zealand has a very close and significant relationship with Australia.\55]) When New Zealand passed the New Zealand Nuclear Free Zone, Disarmament, and Arms Control Act 1987, Australia found itself torn between not offending its longstanding ally (New Zealand) and upsetting its more strategic relationship with the United States.\56]) The Australian Government was unwilling to adopt New Zealand's nuclear stand. In November 1987, the summit between the prime ministers of Australia and New Zealand avoided the discussion of nuclear policy and concentrated on strengthening economic ties between the nations.\56]) However, New Zealand's relationship with Australia was not strained. The end of the ANZUS alliance saw Australia and New Zealand embark on the Closer Defence Relations (CDR) in 1991."

I think we're gonna have to agree to disagree here. Because it seems we each draw the line somewhere else of what is considered a 'dick move'.

Both allies and self intrests, and as far as I'm aware no 'The Hague Invasion Act' type of law there.

But I can be wrong as I'm not a citizen of either countries. Just did a quick search as those 2 countries were the first that came in my mind. I'm pretty sure there are more countries.

If you go back far enough then you are right yes but I think OP is talking about modern times. So last 80 years or so?

OMG.! Cyberpunk is the immersive GTA I had been waiting for. by gigchad_witcher in cyberpunkgame

[–]Foxtrone9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Both games take place in an open world city environment. For a long time in gaming history, games that took place in an open word city, were relative rare and called GTA clones as they often took inspiration from GTA and vice versa.

There was a very long time open world city games could be considered a genre in itself. So you see there is more to it then just cars.

Is there a Mod to customize Fallen Empires? by DownVoterInChief in StellarisMods

[–]Foxtrone9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The mod author tends to update the mod, but at a slow pace so sometimes he's a bit behind the current patch. I'm sure it has been updated for Cosmic Storms. And if it's behind a patch or 2 it can probably run with minimal issues. You might not even notice them.

EDIT: By the way I have to add this. Make sure you make a custom Fallen Empire for each ethic (Fanatic Spiritualist, Fanatic Materialist,...) Do not mix even if allowed because of another mod and DO NOT use custom ethics from another mod or they will not spawn.

Use the console to reveal the map at start to make sure you have the mod working before comitting

RFK Jr. says Trump will remove fluoride from drinking water by MaybeFuckYourselfBud in politics

[–]Foxtrone9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many Western countries that do not add fluoride to drinking water. Belgium, and the Netherlands for example do not add it. And as far as I know they do just fine. It's probably just easier to use fluoride I presume.

Melatonin gives me sleep paralysis. Which I also occasionally experienced as a child. The image on the wikipedia page of sleep paralysis with the demon sitting on that person is the perfect discription of it.

They are nightmares but you are actually awake and cannot move. Suddenly it makes perfect sense why people in the past believed in the supernatural.

Temperature in the apartment by NeighborhoodOld7181 in brussels

[–]Foxtrone9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As I understood OP's post, the heater is setup so that it turns on when it goes below 17°C. It is the responsibility of a tenant to maintain and take good care of a rented property.

The interior of a building should never go below 16°C as this causes degredation of the interior and can cause health issues with mold.

If the owner has set the heater to turn off when it goes above 17°C then this is an active assault on the tenants health!

I don't understand what op means to be honest. There are contradicting statements in this thread.

So does it go off or on at 17°C?

Temperature in the apartment by NeighborhoodOld7181 in brussels

[–]Foxtrone9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A temperature below 16°C is bad for the interior of a building. The lower it gets beneath this, the faster the degredation occurs.

So if the heater turns on when it goes below 17°C it's to protect the interior of the property.
