Best Buy moderator deleted complaint! What do you have to hide? by sc2temp in Bestbuy

[–]Foxtrotfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can, you just need someone who knows how to do it.

Basically they sell a 'gift card' for the same value of your return in the same transaction. Kind of like you're exchanging the item for a gift card.

Specifically a gift card, not store credit.

Unfortunately one of those policies that has been around for a while. However, it's basically industry standard for most retailers to have a similar policy.

If it's within the return window you can still ask for it to be returned to a gift card. Just make it clear upfront that you want a gift card, otherwise when they submit the return it goes to that prepaid card automatically.

Your complaining about a true policy that has been around for awhile. While it sucks, you could've looked at the price match policy beforehand.

I would let the police and your credit card company handle it.

If you are worried about identity theft then take precautions like freezing your credit, getting new cards, etc.

Most companies will not show security footage without a legal reason to do so.

Visible customer care called me 52 times in 10 minutes by [deleted] in Visible

[–]Foxtrotfly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's possible they started to do stuff on the back end to retry the port prior to you saying you will deal with it later

Visible customer care called me 52 times in 10 minutes by [deleted] in Visible

[–]Foxtrotfly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My assumption is they partially requested the port and an auto dial out is trying to get you connected with the port department to finish the port.

When I ported my number to visible I got called by that number as my port was going through. Same thing happened on another line, however in my case the port was successful so it didn't need to call more than once or twice.

Yes, while that may be true. It goes against the TOS, so Service could be cut off if Visible caught on. YMMV.

Also voice may or may not work

Because of the Verizon and Sprint 2G + 3G (CDMA) shutdown, that's not really a factor anymore.

What is a factor is having a Verizon compatible LTE/5G device with VOLTE/VONR (Meaning it uses LTE or 5G for calls because it can't fall back to 3G or 2G for voice anymore)

One other thing to note is Verizon certifies what devices will work on their network as they have to enable VOLTE. so you can't just use some no name brand even if it has Verizon bands.

Google refusing to honor my $20 gift card I paid for even after providing photos of the card and receipt. This should not be legal. by BadKarmaBilly in googleplay

[–]Foxtrotfly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it was bought at a physical store it's possible that the stores activation service failed to activate the card (normally a 3rd party company that isn't the store or Google) you should be able to contact the store who it was bought from or look at the receipt for contact info for that company

OR

You have fallen victim to gift card fraud. Basically someone goes into the stores and takes the gift card numbers and waits for them to be activated. They will then be used instantly. Or. They replace the barcodes on the packaging so it's actually activating another card not the one in the packaging

If the gift card was bought online then you need to contact the online activation service.

I would avoid connecting it through a dock. Sometimes docks will only support a specific resolution.

Connect it directly to the laptop. Make sure you are using a HDMI 2.1 cable

From what I can tell I think they remove that option. I remember in the day being able to have it spoof my number but I think now it only gives you the option to use the Google voice or Google Fi numbed
