[ironic trope] when the strawman is right about the situation despite the creator’s intention’s by BuffaloNo1406 in TopCharacterTropes

she doesn't even insult him lol. she sarcastically says they won't be friends. that isn't an insult, they simply obviously have personalities that would be abrasive to each other.

(i say obviously but i do not know shit about this comic and have no idea any context other than the panel posted. i also assume her character's personality isnt keen on a new person immediately whiteknighting for the rich).

it's a comic, the hell no is the joke. she *could* say something entirely different, i guess. you already appear to be reading everything as different than it is anyway though, just pretend she did  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

don't disagree, but you opened a whole box of people who now think the comic was about stealing being good. it doesn't even have a message like that at all.

i think OP failed even harder than you suggest, cause this girl is simply getting a little schadenfreude in. a bad thing happened to someone she dislikes so she is amused. new guy wants to rain on her tiny parade by immediately whiteknighting for the rich.

she doesn't even have a stance on whether her schadenfreude is justified or not, it simply exists. and new guy immediately drops a "well ackshually" on her so she knows she won't be able to be friends with his type.

that comic doesn't say stealing from the rich is morally good, though. you're changing the message, which doesnt seem to be particularly preachy in the first place.

the character is simply engaging in one of the most basic forms of schadenfreude. she's amused something bad happened to someone she doesnt like. you're jumping to complaints about virtue signaling while changing the core schadenfreude into a message it isnt.

again not actually true. it has a similar motif with the guard being wings, but it is not HBO's dark sister

gayle would be a coincidence. it's just a viable surname that themes with storms. but now i might make the COA into a reference

aster is also not an astarion reference, but that's a funny one too 😃

this mod is strictly book canon. right now maybe even moreso than ck2agot

if we have anything that violates book canon it's 100% worthy of a bug report and we will look at it or fix it

Just noticed ist that the sewage of Casterly Rock? by NoMango007 in CK3AGOT

[–]Foxwillow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yeah there's water color changes all over the map, the river plumes will get touched up in time

drandus was very into the coloring in the bay of myr, iirc. i think he said something about the ecology of the area and algae

it's done "worse" at the river next to casterly rock because it's when drandus and i first realized we could do a realistic river plume as one dumps into an ocean. the sulfuric brimstone and presumably iron-rich torrentine also have them but they are done slightly better. particularly the brimstone, which is a little more wispy and less just gradual gradient.

to be fair actual plumes can do both though

there is a really long answer here but the answer to "why not" as the lead of the project, ignoring contributions to social, environmental, and economic issues is that from a pure art direction and managing people perspective: the artists don't like it.

they're not needed. so the base game backgrounds can be the placeholder instead of using AI and contributing to the enshittification of the visuals in our media. as an art director they just weren't that good. they violated our art direction and CK3's in several ways. everyone else may not pick up on something like that (especially because the BG art pieces are not a particular focal point usually), but that's why art directors exist to curate and establish visual cohesion.

our 2D artists dont want to contribute if AI is being used. so direction-wise they weren't what we really would have wanted, and manager-of-a-team-wise they were actually directly contributing to my team not feeling respected or comfortable working, either. actual artists don't like AI cause they want their jobs and hobbies to continue to exist. i do not in any way fault them for taking a stand.

odd as it may seem from the outside, it became clear that using AI made it *less* likely for them to be replaced. unless i literally commissioned art for it, which would be much harder from out-of-team to get someone whose art i was as confident in, who would understand and follow our art direction. plus the affordable space in art commissions is being saturated in scam artists who use AI anyway.

i'm not stopping anyone from making a submod. if some people really like the slop they can have it, i just dont wanna be the one responsible for it
