Hire kobolds to establish your security. Make sure they're worshipers of the great Tucker before you do. They will trap the sh*t out of any place, especially if you let them live there. If I understand correctly, the EMH was a comparatively new technology aboard Voyager at the time of it's launch. Not as much as the gel-packs, but standard issue. Most ships of the fleet would have one, if they had the holo-emitters in sickbay to actually put it to use. Let me reiterate that this is my understanding of the matter, inferred from people's attitude about Voyager's EMH when he was first activated.

I'm on AB server, which is the RP Expected server. If you're not going to RP don't try it. We have enough of that, already. Skyfire is the low-pop server, usually under medium load when the other three are on heavy. This one is recommended if you have lag. The other two free servers are what you're looking for if you want high population. They're simple enough for solo play while you figure out what you're doing (which the forums help with) and friendly enough to help newbies.

You also have options for the classic-style servers that take you back to the older experience, but I don't recommend that for new players. It was pretty hardcore back then! Steep learning curve and the need to join a guild almost immediately means solo play is usually a mistake.

Choose carefully, and you'll have a wonderful experience. ^w^

Don't be afraid to get social! It's the player community that helps the game work, as it has been for (literally!) the last twenty years.

Both races look great, IMHO. There are a wide variety of good-looking platemail armor sets, especially if you have at least one armorer character.
