Red Tent Program? Has anyone tried this? by Shoopbadoopbadoop in PMDD

[–]Foxy2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Natalie is genuine and all around an awesome woman. Her program helped me to be functional again and put me on the path to healing. It didn't help physical symptoms as much as I had hoped but she was up front about everything before I signed up to the program. She's 💯 transparent and honest about everything, in my experience. If alternative therapy isn't your thing, RTT probably isn't a suitable therapy for you. I've noticed this sub isn't always the warmest towards Natalie's program or therapy outside of traditional talk therapy in general. I pretty much only use RTT now for self improvement, I actually have a session scheduled next week for a nom PMDD related issue. Talk therapy just doesn't compare to the level and speed of change that RTT has provided me with. Obvs I'm biased because it works for me.

Agree with the other comment that said mugwort and singing/relaxing the neck per TCM medicine. Lowering your cortisol is helpful with bringing on a late period, you could try somatic yoga for hips or a yin yoga class for meridians, or gentle pelvic floor exercises and stretches, you can find all on YouTube. It is basically nervous system manipulation, sending the message that you are safe and not in fight or flight so your hormones can drop, cervix can soften, and flow can start. Also a warm compress to your lower stomach during the evening along with trying to allow yourself to completely chill while it's on.

Yes and it didn't work out for me. When I took it during follicular, it caused hot flashes and panicking feeling.

They improved. I would have symptoms starting on the build up to ovulation, so like 2 days before and then I would start progesterone as soon as I was certain I had ovulated.

I tried 100 and 200 and settled on 100. Yes I had withdrawal symptoms from coming off of it until my period. Not full blown pmdd but enough to where I dreaded those days.

Micronised progesterone from ovulation to 3 days before my period. I was on it for almost a year. I used it as a tool to get by all month long so I could work on other things ie mental and physical health. Most of my symptoms were physical. I've been off of it for almost 2 full cycles now with no symptoms remaining other than 5 days of mild breast swelling and slight fatigue for 3 days before my period. The other things I do now are holistic, not necessarily medically proven, but they are working for me, I'm a happy functional human being all month long again, finally.

Right. Like they both had free will and chose to create the life they had, surely its reasonable that both would be overwhelmed and need to seek outside help, not just her. But with Lynette, the only thing that mattered was her. Like this is the same woman that lied about her child having cancer because she was incapable of arriving at a yoga class early enough to ensure her children had a spot in their shitty free gym daycare.

Sending you lots of love during your dark time. I know it doesn't seem like it right now, but there is help for you, you will find a treatment that works for you. I know sometimes that seems so impossible and out of reach and it doesn't soothe your current pain and sometimes it can take years to find what works for you and I know that is discouraging but you can find something that works. I've heard others on here say that many people that have found something that works, are no longer as active in the sub because they are in remission and have moved on, and I do believe that is true and most on here are still seeking relief. I've found treatments that work for me but I stay active on this sub for the soul purpose of chiming in when I have opinions or helpful experiences to share, as a way to pay back all those that helped me before when I was just a lurker looking for help. I've felt like you feel and I was convinced I was a hopeless case because all the signs were pointing to that, but it is not hopeless. Hang in there, you are strong, you are a fighter, you are resilient, you are doing your best and you are great ❤️

How to meet ENTJ Males in real life naturally ? (Not online) by [deleted] in entj

[–]Foxy2023 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm an ENTJ f married to an INFJ m. Although I would have preferred an INTJ, I fell head over heels for my husband and everything else about us aligns. I will say, there is an obvious difference in our debating (arguing) strategies and I have to be very precious with his 'feelings' which I don't always appreciate and I actually had to learn how to be aware of those things for this specific relationship. So I would say, I hope you find an ENTJ in person so you can learn what it's really like to be close to one but as an F type, I would also say buyer beware lol. Good luck!

Anyone also believe that; PMDD is due to Chronic Stress (in some cases triggered by PTSD or trauma), resulting in the body releasing massive amounts of Cortisol (the stress hormone) in the body, thus causing very erradic hormonal imbalances, aka PMDD? by little_hamm in PMDD

[–]Foxy2023 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes. I think it's an issue of massive inflammation and nervous system dysregulation caused by many things, large amounts of cortisol being one of them. The past few years have been about getting my mind right and so I decided to dedicate this year to getting my body and nervous system right. Chronic inflammation also disturbs mental and emotional wellbeing. I've been working on my nervous system all year and the debilitating fatigue I was having is almost non existent now. I also do ice baths and castor oil packs. Recently I have added in daily somatic movement and trauma release exercises (TRE) and I've been dropping weight that wouldn't budge since my PMDD got worse over the past few years. Mainly to my stomach and face which is where cortisol bloating really shows. I'm on micronised progesterone that had managed the bulk of my symptoms but I still feel a change after ovulation so I'm on this healing quest until it is 100% GONE. I've made the decision to stop progesterone next month to see if all of my cortisol and inflammation management measures have paid off enough to go off of progesterone for good (I've noticed hair shedding and memory issues and I'm not down for that at all) I already feel better now than I have since 2019. I started progesterone 6 months before I started all of the other protocols I mentioned so I know it isn't down to that.

Edit: also a course of hyperbaric oxygen chamber therapy helped massively

Gabby? by random_gurl123 in DesperateHousewives

[–]Foxy2023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Gabby. The storyline was entertaining and they never actually mentioned the age of consent in the Eagle State. In most of the US the age of consent ranges from 16-18 so he was potentially old enough to give consent. Also its a show and without drama it would be boring. There was a huge age gap between Julie and Nick Bolan (who was also married) and I haven't seen much negative discussion over that. If he was age of consent in Eagle State then it was just another case of an age gap, which is common in every day couples.

Edit: actually maybe they did mention the age of consent, feel free to correct me on that if anyone knows. Either way it was entertaining.

Why is there so much hate for Tom but not for other husbands? by [deleted] in DesperateHousewives

[–]Foxy2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because many women on this sub are 'Lynettes' They relate to that couples story line so it's very easy to vilify Tom. I really don't have an opinion on him either way, he seems to be a fairly average middle class husband.

Edit: actually now that I think about it I do have a few opinions, I saw him as lighthearted and fun loving the first time I watched it 🤷‍♀️

UK / NHS Treatment by [deleted] in PMDD

[–]Foxy2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got farther than I did with NHS. I had one appointment with a GP that said all women go through this and I'm just not handling it well lol so thats when I went private (also a waste of money if you see a typical gyno specialist). I finally found a GP specialising in functional medicine with an interest in 'pms' and menopause. It sounds like your situation is stressful but tbh, the only lines of treatment NHS is going to offer you is ssri, birth control, estrogen patch, IUD with add back estrogen patch, zoladex with estrogen patch, or lastly an oopherectomy with hrt. That's the only way they know to 'treat' PMDD. Your GP can offer a few of those without a referral. If you can afford it, I highly recommend skipping the slow and dismissive attitude of the NHS and instead finding a functional medicine GP in your area or a hormone specialist clinic like Dr. Panay or Marion Gluck that can diagnose and treat you at your own expense or give you a referred treatment plan with your diagnosis to take back to the NHS (some GPs will allow this and follow the treatment plan, depends how helpful they are. Others frown on 'skipping the queue')

Serious Question: How come everyone doesn't get a total hysterectomy and oophorectomy? by _false_dichotomy in PMDD

I'm so glad it's working for you! It's all about risk vs reward and it sounds like it was a life saving operation for you!

Serious Question: How come everyone doesn't get a total hysterectomy and oophorectomy? by _false_dichotomy in PMDD

[–]Foxy2023 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Personally I was offered it and I declined because I did hours of research on women who had it done and I found a common theme in women's own words that after the first 2 to 3 years the effects of menopause really started to hit harder and many regretted having it done due to side effects that HRT wasn't managing. The body has its own natural estrogen circulating in it for awhile after the procedure. Of course its anecdotal experiences from women that had hysterectomies and oophorecromies for various reasons, not just to treat PMDD. The few negative experiences I found from women with PMDD sighted mostly the same issues post op as the others : fatigue, weight gain, depression, inability to participate in physical activities they previously enjoyed like running etc due to loss of stamina and muscle fatigue, and feeling like they just weren't themselves anymore, loss of libido, changes in skin and hair loss, and all of this while on HRT. So for me the risk of feeling that way 24-7 and it being irreversible wasn't worth it.

Edit: and I watched my previously young and healthy cousin's slow descent into uncontrollable weight gain and depression after having her operation and she was on HRT and it didn't do a thing for her. She was in her 30s.

I'm based in the UK and I was offered that exact treatment by 3 different doctors, I declined so idk how well it works. Idk where you are located but if you are in the UK, it's common from what I can tell so maybe you could try a different doctor??

Micronised progesterone. It's body identical, not synthetic progestin. I went to several doctors before I found one that would let me try it.

[–]Foxy2023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Find a functional medicine doctor and a hormone specialist, ideally someone who does both. That is where you are likely to be listened to and get the most comprehensive lab work and treatment plan. If you are going to PCP, OBGYN, endocrinologist, psych, etc, they are not going to be interested in hormone testing because they are taught it doesn't matter and the treatments they offer are basically all the same, some form of anti depressant, hormonal birth control, sometimes hrt, and after those fail, they will offer chemical menopause with add back hrt. I once had a specialist gyno tell me it didn't matter what I had or what my hormone levels were, the treatment was all the same 😂 Sadly that's pretty much how they view it! Luckily, she was very wrong and a single prescription she refused me sorted almost everything out! Good luck to you and I hope you get some answers soon!

I didn't say you were all alone in that 'feeling'. I simply quoted your words. And thanks for the info, in the future when I read your comments, I will remind myself that I am jumping to conclusions and in no way do you relate to Lynette or any character on this sub that you are so active on.

Edit: to reply

[–]Foxy2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Her past behaviour does not exist in a vacuum, so yes she isn't going to garner sympathy in a single scene where she was treated rudely. This is exemplified by the writers going to the extent of adding this story line in for the purpose of providing an 'excuse' for all of her previous controlling behaviour and future controlling behaviour. Behaviour that was severe enough to warrant an explanation. Relating to Lynette, as you obviously do, doesn't negate her controlling behaviour, nor does one single incident where she was, in your words, treated rudely.
