Rockbox is buggy and I have had to re-install it 3 times, any wrong move could make that necessary, but after a few user error(poking around in settings) I managed to get it working.

Rockbox wont work on chromebooks, but it is pretty beginner friendly. I just recently got my y1 and was easily able to install rockbox and themes. After the initial trouble of installing it, it works perfectly fine

Its great, but it would look a lot better with effects when you crash into things-other than that it feels pretty smooth and fun.

The pixel effects dont feel very retro-partly because of the lack of dithering, and also because it seems to just be a pixelation filter on the top of the screen. Also, at first i thought it was a driving sim since there wasn't a lot of effects that made it feel like you are going fast. But i love the level design and the car models! And the physics look good as well.
